So does this mean that when I get my GCMS notes, I am getting a 1 month old snapshot of my situation (at the time I applied)?

I guess so. For me it is like this. The last update on my file is the day I made the request for GCMS.

I applied for my gcms notes on the 15th. If they come Tuesday (Monday is a holiday) it will be a good insight into my case

I phoned CIC today for an update on my status, they said they have sent nothing and everything is in order. Not sure if the same information would be in my GCMS notes but once they approve on the 20th I will know.

Currently my status is in process, so I expect little or no notes at all but I like to check just in case.

Do we really have to get a GCMS in order for them to update our application status?
And how to get or apply for GCMS and for how long it would take for them to reply?

I did received an MR last nov 28 2014.. And yup I did an upfront medical last dec 16, 2014.. Took me awhile to do so because was applying for a leave from my work..

And no reply from CIC ever since I had my medical.. Even My Ecas was not yet updated.. Still APPLICATION RECEIVED..

There are many peoples from Feb, March, April in the queue who still need to be get result from CIC....
You should have to wait before jump into any wondering conclusion..... Just hold on to this and relax.. Enjoy the killing waiting...

Hi,
GCMS stands for Global Case Management System. You don't need to order the GCMS in order for your file to be updated. GCMS is just a system where your visa officer put all the info (notes) about your file. It takes about 30 days to get the notes. Here you can find how to order the GCMS:
