Hi, I am a single applicant. I am pretty much sure that only you got RQ'd, not your family. For the safe side, call the call center and confirm. Also, since you are with your family, you will have to submit many documents of family members, such as kid's schooling docs, wife's tax assessments, if you filed as married etc., to support your RQ responses. Finally, read the questions and suggested supporting documents carefully and thoroughly before deciding which documents you are going to provide. Good luck.
Chandu

when you submitted the RQ supporting documents, did you submit any documents (from Indian immigration) about your in's and out travel history ?

Guys,
Yesterday my sister received the letter to appear for the test on the 25th of Nov. She sent her application in Dec 2012 and the CIC started processing her application in Feb 2013. She checked her ECAS status and the test was there.

That's amazingly fast from Montreal's office!

Two things that makes me wonder:

1- The letter was sent on Nov 6th and she received it on Nov the 8th. 2 days! and the ecas gets updated super fast. Other applicant's ecas don't get updated that fast.

2- Our friend who applied about 3 to 4 months before she did didn't get anything yet. Natha!

Anyways I am super happy for her Grin and we are hoping for the best. I will keep you posted on what happens after the test.

Windsor is extremely fast! :) Congratulations! :)
Given how often the political angle comes into this section of the forum lets play the 'which MP/ party' represents these fast processing offices i.e Windsor, Mississauga and Kitchener? If you were a political analyst/strategist can you identify a pattern? If in power would you focus on appeasing those areas where support maybe shaky or as a reward for bringing in the vote and 'neglect' the areas that were anti the party or where the 2nd/3rd/4th generation citizenship vote was/has historically been a slam dunk/ wrapped in the bag? Come the next Federal election would you vote for the incumbent? As the saying goes its not always clear to see the forest through the tress!

I'll have to get back to you on that one. All I know is that the day she received the letter, the ecas was already updated.

The reason why i asked is "i put my work address in correspondence". Most of time, i dont check it. in addition, it is a common mail box rather individual one. Also, time gap between test invite and test is very less.

I can be rest assured if test invite appears on eCAS.

Got my citizenship on May 27th 2013 :) and then my sister applied!

Here is my sister's timeline: (Downtown Toronto area, but under Scarb. office)

First received the application on 9th of May 2013

Held it for 2months(I guess thats what they do, receive the mail, and store it for 2months) then they realized that some silly checkbox was not filled and they sent it back.

We resent it on July 31st

They received it again on 1st of August.

Held it for 2months again and then updated the online status to "in process" on the 1st of Oct 2013.

Funny thing is, on Ecas its showing that they mailed off the "Discover Canada book" on 9th of May which is impossible cuz they sent the application back as it was "incomplete". Anyway, she finally received the booklet this month (Nov) which clearly shows that they mailed it AFTER Ecas updated to "in process" which was in October. This is just silly, people might worry that their book got lost, or their address on the application might have been wrong. Its so generic, once they received the envelope they just update on Ecas that they mailed the book, but they don't do that in reality!

Anyway, sigh.

This is what E-cas says for her case:

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on May 9, 2013.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on May 9, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on October 1, 2013.

Anybody have a similar timeline? How long would you think till the test date? I estimated May 2015 ish...? Oh, we are in Downtown Toronto, but applications are processed in Scarb. (I know cuz mine was in Scab too)

Now CIC can claim this case is non-routine and apply 35-month timeline to it.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/cit-processing.asp

What is a non-routine application?

An application is considered non-routine if any one of the following has occurred:

you are asked to provide a residence questionnaire, documents proving residence in Canada, fingerprints, or any other additional documents;
we have not received all the necessary documents or the correct fees;
it is unclear whether you meet the residence requirements;
it is unclear whether you are subject to any immigration, security or criminal prohibitions;
you do not meet the language requirements for citizenship;
you fail or are unable to write the knowledge-of-Canada test (citizenship test); and
you require a hearing with a citizenship judge.

Well, the CIC is free to do what ever it wants with us....it has all the power...we can just sit a wait.

But I really hope not. Because its a pretty straight forward case. She is a university student...didn't travel much out of Canada in last 3/4 years etc etc. It was just a checkbox, one of the ones that are already kind of implied. It was a silly mistake...all other documents were attached.

Anyway...hope not. But if it takes 35months...then oh well.
