I am 26th April 2013 applicant. I have friends who applied in Feb and got their passports back as well.
I am really hopeful for Jan 2014.

Just wondering if anyone knows how long is the PPR valid for when it comes, 30 or 60 days?

Your should get a PPR pretty soon. It can go all the way uptill Jan at the most. Did you ever order your GCMS notes ?

I did today after reading about other people talking about it.
The reason I ask about time is I am going on a small vacation on Jan 17th and coming back on 4th Feb, if it comes before or during that, what are my options?

Hello sivaram, How are you? My file was transferred to Ottawa on November 7th. I guess you are almost 10 days a head of me. I am eagerly waiting for your ppr, then i can add 10 more days to mine....I am praying god to get your ppr this year and mine in the middle of the January. This forum is really awesome. Hello Phaneendra - thanks for the wishes - i am eagerly waiting too - my file has been delayed twice already - once due to missing proof birth document and second due to birth of my baby - some how i reached the last stage and waiting for the one final message !!! - i will keep you posted.

Hello SSR, I am also following your timeline. My processing was also delayed by a month because I had to submit an updated Background Declaration form as I had a few things missing there and Police Certificates. All that is done now, my processing started on Nov 20th and got my RPRF request a week after. I am hoping to get mine next year. HOPEFULLY...

2. By ordering the gcms notes ,the time for pr process will be longer? I mean it will effect the processing time?

Hello Phaneendra - 'GCMS' notes provides you some understanding of what happended with your file till date - such as what are all they verified (security, criminality, admissibility, medicals, RPRF payment, applicants immigration status etc) and whats the status of these checks (passed or in progress or ....) - its some sort of reflection to the personal notes made by the officer/s processing your application at various stages - it will also tell you whats the current location of it (CIO or your VO) - on some applicants' notes there is mention of due date (for taking a decision) also, but doesnt seems like they are sticking to it - you would also see what are various communications made to you in the course of processing and what was the related response - if there are any special notes on your file, you would see them too on GCMS.

Additional time for GCMS? may be YES - it appears like some agent will pull your file and make notes on a prescribed format; therefore you will loose that time, (only) if an officer wanted to work on your file at the same time - and i am not sure how many days it would take for an agent to create this notes.

how long? it takes 30 calender days to receive your GCMS notes after you order them.

how to order? via online application - go to "https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en" and fill out all relevant info as required - the fee is $5, and you dont need to attach any documents

Here are my GCMS notes as of December 19:
Eligibilty- Passed
Security- BLANK
HIRV (what is it?)- BLANK
Criminality- Passed
Medical- Passed
Org crime- BLANK

Looks like lots of work is done. No notes in security- I guess it is in process.
Any guesses how long it is to wait for PPR at this point? Is my stage similar to other May 2013 Ottawa applicants?
