Yay Steph C! Good to hear you got some movement on your file. We're still waiting for medical extenions after almost 2 months. I wonder how many of us May people are still around? (Well, you're kind of borderline april :))) )

Thanks BC Girl.. I didn't realize you were still hanging around either :D
Did you already do the medical and just waiting for the embassy to realize? We didn't get the request yet for re-med, Manila doesn't seem to to extensions. But we know that if they ask for one, we are for sure approved ::)

Well, our VO has sent the request to the regional medical office (which is London for us). They are supposed to extend it for another year. They only do that if the only thing outstanding before they issue the visa is the medical results. Ours expired in December. It's partly my fault for rushing him into doing the exams too early. I underestimated how much work putting the whole package together was! Haha!

I asked our VO around the time it expired (back in December) if we should do another one. They told us we should wait for their instructions. So we did. In mid-Feb they said they have requested London to reassess our medical files, in order to extend the validity. We, it's almost two months and still nothing. The extension seems to be in the grey area, really. No one knows how long it should take. I've seen 3-4 weeks, and 2-3 months.

Good thing is, I know the longest the medical office is allowed to hold on to the medical file before they assess it is 3 months. I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're almost there :-X

I hope yours take much shorter. I can't seem to figure it out, but the closer it gets to the end, the harder it becomes to bear. Phew! I said it :)

Its so nice to log in and read so much good news :-)

We were never even given the medical extension option....they asked for re-med staight away. That may be simply how the Singapore VO works it though. That said, it was a painless process as my wife did her re-med and a couple days later our status was changed to meds recieved. We are to send in her passport on April 21.

The funny thing is that we had a weekend holiday planned for some time now over to Singapore and it so happens the day we return is the day we are to submit her passport too the IOM here in Vietnam. Crazy how things work sometimes :-)

Continued luck to all those still waiting....seems like lots of action for our group these days

:) ;) :D ;D On the plane arriving tomorrow. :) :) :) :)

Landed safely on Friday april 12th but they lost the bags.
Promised us to return bags on Monday.
