Hi guys,

I hope I`m writing at the right place. I`m also a May applicant with Bucharest VO but my status is still on "application received" and no news at all from Bucharest VO. I see so many people here got their visas and I started worrying that may be something got wrong with my case. My husband received his sponsorship approval on 30th of July. Do you think is normal that we did not have any more news after this?
Any information will be appreciated please!

I second bonitanita. Most of us are in the same boat. I checked and Bucharest's processing time is 9 months for 80% of the applications, so you seem to be OK. I'm putting the link here for your reference. I hope you hear back something soon!

bonitanita, did they finally locate your application?

Thank you bonitanita and BCgirl2012!

I know about the processing time of Bucharest VO. When we applied in May I think it was 7 months, then 8 and now is 9 ( I hope it will not be changed to 10). The point is there is no change at the ecas and no news at all from Bucharest VO when I see many other May applicants are at the final. So this makes me think there might be something wrong :(

Don't worry :) The wait is really hard, I know. When we first submitted our application, our VO's wait time was 5 months. Then they increased to 6 months. Still good, no? :) But shortly after they bumped it to 15, and in the latest one to 16 months.
The bad part about this wait is it doesn't allow for any sort of planning. And if the partners live apart (like we do) it makes it even more difficult. Some couples have the benefit of currently living together. However, they also have their own challenges as for example the ones who are in Canada as a visitor can't work, study, etc, which makes life quite hard, both financially and professionally.

Two things that come to my mind:

- You can check the VO specific timeline in the Bucharest threads (I'm sure you already know them :) )
- You can also order your GCMS notes and see what's happening with your file there. Just make sure to ask for electronic file and not the paper file.

Unfortunately, it seems CIC has gone through many cuts in the past year, and we are now seeing the effect of them. Talk about bad timing, eh?

Hey,

Long time no hear!

Yes, they located my file just under 2 weeks ago and it has been sent to London. I am now "In Process". London has asked me to send them another police report - guess it was expired. Wonder who's fault that was? Nevertheless, I am glad there is some movement. Have sent of for my police report and hoping that it gets to the VO by the end of the month and then maybe we can start 2013 off with a big bang!

How are you?

:)

Hi Bonitanita, I thought that the police records are ok once they are received by CIC :-X I am worried now because besides the FIB records, I had to submit records from another country and those already expired in September which is when I applied. I am getting really worried now!!

I had to send police reports from 4 countries originally. But, they only requested that I send the UK (home) one again. Now, it may have been that it was lost and that's why they requested it again. But, I applied for it last January and I had the feeling they were only valid for 6 months. I could be wrong. I'm not sure.

If you submitted records from other countries, I am sure they will not ask for them again unless you have been back to those countries since they expired.

Don't worry. They didn't ask me for my others so I doubt they will ask you! :)

Thank you for the peace of mind because I went through hell just to get those lol

I broke down and ordered my case notes today. I'm so sad seeing so many people from May getting their PPRs while I sit here stressing out, worrying that there's a problem with my file.

I'm so happy for everyone else, yet I feel so bad for being jealous every time someone else gets their PPR.

Up to this point I have not been stressing out at all... but as people seem to be progressing I'm now getting worried.

I check the status of my application and it always says the same thing:

Sponsorship Application Status: Decision made (Sponsorship approval was received July 4, 2012)
Permanent Residence Application Status: APPLICATION RECEIVED

Shouldn't it say "IN PROGRESS" or something?? Why would it still just say "Application Received"?? Anyone else's appear this way so I can stop worrying?

Our status is exactly the same. Application was received on May 24, I was approved as a sponsor on July 23, and it hasn't changed since then. Application Received and not a peep from CIC. Well that's not entirely true. We get the oh so helpful canned response whenever we contact them. The emotions have quickly gone from frustration to anger. Especially when I see people from June receiving their PPR.

We tried to land today. CPP-O hasn't entered us in the system yet so they couldn't finalize his COPR. Sigh. Went to Niagara Falls for nothing...

Mine is the same. All you can do is wait. By the time it says in process a decision will be made. By the time it says descision made your spouse will alreadt be unpacking at your place in Canada.

Oh, that's great to hear! I'm really happy things are finally moving for you. As for us, still the same. I got our notes last month, and nothing was done yet. I was hoping to hear something back by Christmas, but obviously nothing yet, so keeping the hopes up for soon after.

I'm also worried about the police reports. It was a pain to get them from multiple countries. I don't want to go through that again! haha :)

It's always good to see the light. I really hope your VO makes it up to you and speeds up the process!

Don't stress it, am sure everything will be fine. My status changed to In process a little after my application was transferred to abroad and after being approved sponsorship. Everyone's case is fairly different am truly blessed mine as been moving fairly quickly. But trust me all of us stress everyday and it's such a stressful process, just keep your head up all the best.
