Hey,

Ok now I see where you are coming from, easier to answer a little more accurately. If he is going through London but he is a citizen of another country the PR process may take a little longer. Purely because London has to liaise with his country of citizenship during background checks. I think there are a couple of applicants on that spreadsheet who went through London but are not UK/ EU citizens and their times have been a little longer but fingers crossed any delays will be minimal.

As for your question on whether applying for a visitors visa will prolong your PR application, I am pretty sure that applying for a visitors visa will not affect your PR application one bit, it won't delay it or do the application any harm. However the visitors visa will be judged on the basis that you have an outstanding PR application in process, what I mean is, the VO has to be convinced that your husband wont just overstay if he does visit, if applying for a visitors visa, demonstrate as many ties as possible back to his home country i.e. Job, car, mortgage, investments, family and that he is self sufficient whilst in Canada.
Hope that helps and good luck :D

Thank you for helping me out :)
I guess we will apply for visitors visa and provide all the documents we can to show he will not overstay.
I guess there is no harm in applying, at least we know we tried.
Really hope things start speeding up for everyone here. This wait can get very frustrating!
Thanks again :)

Happy monday all!

Hope there is A LOT of movement this week! Uuhhggg.... Still at second stage awaiting for my husbands application STILL saying received! Since about July!

I have a question that you guys can maybe answer... So we are moving out of Cali at the end of the month back up to Canada...my husband obviously can't work till his application has been approved but is he able to come in and out of Canada to visit? He's planning on spending about 3 wks in the states with his family while i am look for a job (returning resident). Then come December we have our own place to live. He then will stay in Canada till they approve him.

its been almost 5 months and we have not heard any news from cic for sponsor approval, my wife called the hotline every week and yesterday she go to mp office to seek help and still no luck..

He is an American Citizen? Then yes. They can stay as visitors for up to 6 months, and that can always be extended. My husband has been living here with me since May and we just applied to extend his stay.

Hello
Ok so I heard this new piece of information, I dont know how true it is.
I heard that if the sponsor does not have a job the immigration officers do not reject nor do they proceed with the file.
The file remains untouched until the sponsor shows an income. How true is this?
I am a student and I have sponsored my husband. I am also currently looking for a job.
I dont want more waiting time to be added to my case! :(

I would say this is untrue.

My husband is sponsoring me and was unemployed at the time we filed the application. He was approved as my sponsor in August. Wouldn't worry too much about that.

My wife (Canadian citizen) lives and works outside Canada.

She doesn't have any income in Canada.

We she was approved as my sponsor last July.

PS: I sent additional documents last Thursday (11-Oct). Waiting for news....
Don't know how long will it take... :(

Yeah, it's a bit early to "panic" just yet. Just keep an eye on the Manila section of 'bonitanita's SS, we're all waiting for PPR.

You're calling the Canadian hotline? I don't think they are of help once your file has been "transferred".

Income is not a factor at all for a sponsorship. It applies only if you sponsor the child/children.

So what you heard is not true ;D

I was approved as a sponsor in July so I guess that clears the confusion.
thanks :)

I think Besykobuset is worried about sponsor approval. Yes, it is way too long. But they should contact CIC and mp. I hope it is just a mistake or lost in mail/email and the file is already waiting to be processed in Manila.
