thanx !!!!

funny thing is that I had a ticket to visit Canada on September 23rd and when I got the PPR on september 20 I had to cancel the ticket. out of 700 euros I only got 95 back. and now 3 days later than my planned trip I have a visa and have to buy a whole new ticket :)

Where does the sponsorship approval come from? Is it from the visa office where the papers have been forwarded to?

Just to clear up my question: Our papers were sent to mississaugua and after that they've been forwarded to London. If the papers are in London, does that mean I've been approved as a sponsor? (I was checking out the thread called spousal sponsorship and from that post I understood, that the approval for sponsorship is done in mississaugua?)

Sponsor approval comes from mississaugua.

As long as your file has been forwarded to the VO that means you are now in step 2.

Ok, that's the weirdest thing then cuz I haven't received an aknowledgement of receipt or a sponsorship approval ??? But this information took an enormous load off my shoulders for sure!

hahaaa, thanks :) I'm actually pretty surprised myself that I was able to wait this long before asking about my file, considering i'm usually the give-me-everything-right-now type of person :P :D I wonder why they never informed me that they've received my application and that I've been accepted to sponsor ???

well not everyone gets AOR's and they probably sent your approval via snail mail....or they have the wrong email address inputed.......but if you call them they may or may not issue another letter....there have been a few people on this forum who have gone without!!! ;)

i am sure all your visas are coming! don't lose hope !!

an interesting statistic that pretty much gives an idea of the amount of applications CIC processes.

I filed my app on May 15th, it began processing on August 8th and sponsor was approved the same day.
So 92 days of waiting on a shelf, a few (?) hours for processing.

VO says it started processing my app on September 18th and they requested PP on September 20th. So let's say 3 days.
They received the PP on September 24 in the evening and they sent me a mail that the visa is ready for pickup on the 26th in the morning. So all in all let's say 5 days for Vo processing, while it was 42 days from sponsorship approval to file opening in the VO.

So in total let's say 6 days of processing and 134 days of waiting on a shelf.

hmmm. interesting.

I just wanted to let you know i got my COPR today.....but need to make corrections on it (place of birth isnt right), I already emailed them and now wait on the corrected COPR
