Hi guys! I got approval finally this morning via email. It came from Ottawa Pilot. Yay!

Everybody I spoke to said it was in Mississauga..

Let me stress that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my application. No requesting documents or anything. Wow. Four and a half months. I do believe everything is for a reason, so I hope there's a good cosmic reason for this. My other half is super excited. Me, I'm relieved and also feeling trepidation about the next step. I don't even know if we will be approved as a conjugal couple, and I know it's a long road ahead.. We agreed today that he will enroll in some more courses to upgrade his skills while waiting, so hopefully he can keep busy and not get too depressed! And now, I can book my flight there to visit him! It's a good end to the week and a nice 5 year 1 monthiversary present

Hello everyone.. Can somebody please help me with some information about getting a police clearance from Saudi Arabia if you are not a resident there anymore and currently living in the Philippines. I have read some threads saying that the requirement for this has been waived but also some were saying VO are still asking for this as a requirement.. Thanks

They might ask for it, so it's better to be prepared. Try contacting the Saudi Arabian Embassy in your country and inquire how to get one.

How long is a permanent resident visa valid?

A permanent resident visa is issued for a period not exceeding the earliest expiry date of the following documents:

the medical results for you and your family members or
your or your family members’ passport.

Important information. Permanent resident visas cannot be extended once issued. If applicants do not use the visas within their validity period, they must re-apply for immigration to Canada. Their sponsor will have to submit a new sponsorship application and pay new processing fees.

I don't think that interview has to do something with the expiry date of the PR visa.

Whoa! I spent hours reading this thread, 166 pages :O I'm so happy I found this forum although I must say, I'm getting more frustrated now that I realize, I'm probably one of the very last MAY applicant's to receive their approval of sponsorship?

HAS EVERYONE ELSE BEEN APPROVED?

I made the stupidest mistake with my application forms and on Aug. 20 I got a letter fro Ottawa stating I had forgotton to sign one of the papers. Can you believe it??? And I supposedly checked every paper a gazillion times!! So I sent the paper back signed the very next day I got it and I still haven't heard a thing

On the letter they sent me I got a UCI and I've checked every day for any updates and every time it's said that there is no info. Today, however, when I dug up the paper again to find the UCI, I realized that the letter was sent to me using my MAIDEN NAME! That's why the online thing wasn't working, I was trying to log in with my current surname but for some reason they've decided to use my maiden name which I haven't used in 14 years

COULD THAT BE MESSING THINGS UP SOMEHOW??

Everything is fine! We couldn't LOG IN until THREE DAYS after we got "sponsorship approval".

Maybe you should call them and ask.. although they are usually quite snarky about things like info changes over the phone, even if they were the ones to get it wrong in the first place..
