I have tried to phone CIC more than a dozen times. After listening to all the pre-recorded prompts the phone rings and then tells me all agents are currently busy please try again later....

At least you know they have your file and are reviewing it. That is much better than not knowing at all. There is no consistency; no formulae to help one's expectations here. Some people get an email, some get a letter. There should be an email sent out to each application as it is received not when it gets opened 3,4,5 or more months after the fact. They intentionally solicit your email address. Why?
I am completely stressed out by this process and I am not one who gets stressed. I work for the government and know full well if there was a better way to do something they would't do it.

I have good success phoning later in the day on Fridays west coast time. They're open until 5 in each time zone so the least traffic would be in the late afternoons in the west coast or early mornings in the east coast.

Nothing on my end either....i dread calling cic...and now that website is not updated i cant. We called our lawer..and imagine i m getting same crap reply that, we need to wait for 2-3weeks more. I m goin from a state of anxiety to anger and now sheer panic. I am worried that my application is lost..

Just looked at the spreadsheet and noticed my entry wasn't updated. We did get our approval for sponsorship on August 7th, for whoever does update it. Just figured I'd make a post

feeling the exact same The poor postman must be scared of me by now, and my internet bills will be sky high how often I am checking for an email!

it will be there soon - don't panic your application is probably being reviewed now, and you might hear this week or next week. It looks like they are catching up on early May applicants, and soon we will see AORs and straight approvals flying around!
Good luck with waiting - it's really hard.

I called the CIC helpline yesterday and check the status of my application and the machine told me my application was received May 10 2012 but I still can not log n to Ecas

Monalizy you won't be able to log on until you get an aor/approval with your UCI# and File #........the receipt number does not work.....hang in there it will be soon!

I hope you are right! Once stage 1 is complete I am hoping to join my partner in Canada to wait out the rest (with the hope that London process as fast as they are seeming to just now!)
