Hi,

that's my first post however I am reading the forum the last 6 months.

I am from Greece and I sent my application for Spousal sponsorship (my wife is Canadian citizen) on 28 May 2012.
It was received on 31 May 2012.
I had Acknowledgement of Receipt via email on 12 July.
And Decision for the sponsor eligibility on 24 July.

Now the Application for Permanent Residence has been forwarded to Rome's visa office for further processing.

And now I am waiting.

Bad news after last update is that processing time at Rome's VO is now 14 months than 12m it was before....



Anyway, is that just the maximum time (we are talking for a complete application package)?
Could we be lucky and have an answer sooner than 14 months???

i just received AOR of my VO in vienna today !!!! They say it may take 7 months and that i have to give them 3 months before i contact them.

yea and 7 months sounds good, im so relieved now that i heard of them! I was a bit over their usual time for AOR and complained already in the forum when i will finally hear of them, lol, but theres still others waiting again that applied before me >< but we also had sponsor approval pretty fast, so the file got to vienna faster, so that might be a reason i got AOR before others, but already for me it took more than a month now

So my sponsor called CIC just now and they said they haven't even opened my package yet. That if we haven't seen online that they have opened it in the next couple days (which there is no way we can because he has no client ID) to call back because they are working on apps around our time.

Pfft, it's been 101 days since I sent it, and 97 days since received... both over limit. What bugs me is that it hasn't even been touched and yet there are more PPRs from June and almost all of June completed and there are still a handful of May remaining. This is just like how the other months went. I'm so frustrated. I'm already sick of this process. Once you cross 100 days without even an AOR (at least some early May people got that much), that's not even cool. I hate this.

Kiri...I know the wait sucks...but the time lines on CIC are estimates and that is exactly what your MP is going to tell you at this stage......if they advised that they will be opening your file this week then it probably is in process right now....usually they say call back in a couple of weeks.......just hang in there a little longer.....I know it's hard when everyone around you is getting AOR's....but I bet you have yours before the end of the week......and I do understand I was 107 days for AOR...so I get it.....

Yeah, I don't even bother with the site estimates because they have never been accurate from what I've always seen.

if you have a straightforward application you might be done faster than 14 months - it's hard that the time went up like this...
There is no thread specific for Rome VO as there are not many applicants on this forum, but there are a few people on each thread, and hopefully you will hear from them soon!
