The immigration department is asking us to submit the marriage certificate in 5 days. Does affidavit with all supporting documents work in this case? Has anyone experienced this before? I am on WP with my family.

I'm not sure what you mean by supporting documents.

You need to provide the marriage certificate. An affidavit won't be accepted instead.

If you need more time to submit the marriage certificate, then ask for more time. But you need to provide what's being requested.

I mean: affidavit, wedding invitation, kids birth certificate, passports with spouse name, DL with same address, rent lease with both names, join bank account etc… wedding photographs….
Are you saying these docs will not be accepted and marriage certificate is a must? Have you experienced this before?

The application is for family PR from inside CA

Marriage certificate is a must.

These other documents help to support the application and show your relationship is genuine. But you need to provide the actual marriage certificate which is the document that proves you are legally married. What's preventing you from getting the marriage certificate?

- Cannot travel in 3 days
- even if I get it made somehow under current date, will it not look odd?
- can I get it made from any location of India? I can ask my relatives staying in India for some help but don’t know if it will be accepted?
