Hello everyone, I just received a letter from IRCC that the application for my MIL's super visa has been denied. Here is an excerpt of the letter:

Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada.
I have reviewed your temporary resident visa(visitor visa) application and supporting documentation to assess whether you meet the requirements for a visitor visa (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eligibility.html).
This includes assessing whether you are coming to Canada temporarily for the reason(s) you describe in your application. I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act(IRPA) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/I-2.5/index.html) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/index.html). I am refusing your application.
• “Proof of acceptable health insurance has not been provided.
To get help with understanding your temporary resident application refusal and what you can do next, visit: https://www.cic.gc.ca/visit-visiter/en/refusal-visa-application.
Next Steps:
• If you decide to apply again, know that:
○ your new application will be assessed on its own merits,
○ you must resubmit a new application and all relevant supporting documents and paya new temporary resident application fee, and
○ your new application may be refused unless it is supported by new or different information that would satisfy the officer that you meet all application requirements.
For additional information on next steps and legal references, you can visit:
• Our online Help Centre https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1485
• The Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA)https://laws.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/i-2.5/
• The Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR)https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/section-179.html

I wish to say that a health insurance valid for 1 year was submitted.

Any advise on how to proceed will be appreciated. Do I context it or what usually happens in situations like this.
I also noted that they keep mentioning visitor's visa, but I specifically applied for super visa, any information or guidance on what should be done is appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Submit a webform asking for reconsideration and indicate that you had included proof of 1 year of supervisa insurance that had been paid for during the initial application. Include proof that it was part of the application if possible.

you must have submitted one, but they dint find it acceptable. buy a new insurance from canadian insurance co. which is accepted.

To be eligible as valid health insurance coverage, the policy from a company outside Canada must

  • be issued by a foreign insurance company authorized by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) to provide accident and sickness insurance
  • appear on OSFI’s list of federally regulated financial institutions
  • be issued under the company’s insurance business in Canada
You can find out if a foreign insurance company is authorized to provide accident and sickness insurance by visiting the OSFI website. More information on these changes to the super visa can also be found on IRCC's website.

No Ppr yet?

This is normal processing. Either processed very quickly because primarily using AI or will take a few months because of manual processing. Both types of processing can result in approvals and refusals. A few months for a long stay visa is not that long.
