hi team,
all my statuses were updated excluding oath (not started) on Dec 22, 2021.
I wanted to travel in April 2022. So my question is should i book my travel, or should i wait for the oath ceremony update? there has been no update since December 22, 2022, my ECAS is at "decision made", and the call center rep told me that I am in the queue for oath ceremony. Visa office is MIS

so to summarize;
1. how much buffer period do we get between the email and the day of the oath ceremony?
2. is someone in the same boat as I am waiting for the oath ceremony since Dec?
3. on average how long does it take to receive the email for the oath ceremony?

your answers will help me in making my decision, so thanks a lot in advance

As far as I know and information other applicants have shared, Oath can not be taken outside of Canada, you have to be on Canadian soil. Also during Oath the PR card will be cut and the applicant will no longer be a PR instead the status change to Canadian Citizen, therefore the need to have a Canadian passport or any travel document that will allow you to re enter Canada. Oath can be differ to a later date.

Thanks, this makes sense. Either way, after looking at flights looks like im not travelling at all.

Every case is different, if your application was online, you will probably be receiving the test invite soon, but if it is paper it could take another couple of months. When did you receive the test invite email, when did you pass the test, and when it was marked as completed?

For those who already did the oath and receive their certificate, did you submit the signed oath form as instructed on the oath form? Or did you reply to the email you are sent right after the oath ceremony?
