my wife and I have a 18 year age gap no questions were asked.

Really?! Wow that's really nice to hear. My husband and I have 13 years between us and I'm nervous it will be cause for an interview. I even wrote a letter specifically to explain why I would marry someone so old. Lol.

Age gap was also my biggest worry, I was sure an interview would be called.
I think what CIC looks more closely at is length of relationship, if short courtship plus large age gap might be reason for interview. But in the end if you have plenty of evidence to show strength of relationship I don't think CIC will have any questions about validity. Even if interview called still no big deal, your chance to show CIC once and for all how strong it really is.
Good Luck

I think almost everyone has at least one red flag or two, the important thing is does the rest of your relationship background seem solid? That's what CIC is looking for basically.

When age gap is considered as large? Im 4 years older than my bf ;D We are 5 and half years together: 3 years online relationship + 2 years constantly living together

It depends on the country and the culture. In the US, even a 15 year age gap is not a big deal, but in other countries, even a 2 year age gap is a big deal.

Hope, those who've not had the first stage completed, will hear from CPC soon..

Australia has free health care for their citizens, you can just have a child there to save on expenses.

@ Koifish, I'm really really sorry about your situation bro. I can't believe just one little document can mess up your wait time so much :(

Thanks mikeymyke. I emailed the form so hopefully they see my email before they open my mail document. And also will call again on Friday. Will keep you all posted.

Ovasquez, got your pm. Updated. Congrats 8)

I have just received an email in french asking my husband to come for an interview on June 20th. they are asking him to come with his own translator if he needs one. They are not asking for any additional documents. I dont know if thats good or bad. They are also not asking for pasport. i dont know if i missed something in that letter because i used google translate. Omg i am so nervous now.

I think that's a good thing. You are probably first amongst us to get an interview. Google translator would not have the most accurate and perhaps they want to clarify a few things, not sure. But call for an interview means your application is in progress I suppose (which is super quick). I am not expecting any communication from my visa office for another 4-5 months at least.

Just an FYI - step 1 processing time is now 52 days. What has gone wrong at Missisuaga for the last 2 months? It's terrible.

hi guys, sorry that the process is long for you, in a way i wish mine was longer also because i was planning another trip there before the interview and now only 18 days till the interview and i can not go because my holidays are booked 2 months from now. I dont even have the time to get the notes. it sucks in a way. i think he needs to get an interpreter for the interview and i have to talk to the interpreter to ensure his english is good. oh this is nervewrecking.

ohh i found a second page to that letter...i guess because is in french i did not realize i missed a page when translating...there they request passport and any evidence he can provide to further prove the relationship.

Yeah its at 52 days now omg :(

I think those still waiting from our group need to utilize their MP at this stage of the game.

For those of you who like to hear good news, although the user hasn't posted on our thread, I read in the Mexico thread today that DesiPTY has actually received their PPR.

They are on our spreadsheet and initially sent their application to Mississauga March 3rd.

This is incredible. Hope the rest of you see such a speedy application process as well.
