thanks everyone. sometimes reading these threads are not the best way to spend my time. reading about denials, appeals, 1500 page applications... oye! this is such a stressful process. i will make sure my husband checks his email... he barely uses it, so it's good to know it might be sent there instead of by mail.

If you put your email addresses on your applications, they will most likely contact you by email!
...but sometimes they send mail instead.
Gotta keep us on our toes, I guess.

You're in good company!

No news today, guys?

which visa office will you be processed through?

I think it will be pretty quiet on this thread the next week and a half, then a flurry of news and hopefully some more positive postings to follow.

Yeah no word here. I'm gutted, really expected to hear about it on Friday/Saturday.
Fingers crossed.

Hey guys, so hubby logged in to E-CAS last night and saw it said " Decision Made" under sponsorship application status. Last week it said " Application Received". Permanent Residence Application Status still says "Application Received"

Of all my reading on the forum, i don't recall someone posting about this...Did anyone else saw this type of activity when you signed in to ECAS? Does this means someone is actively working on our file?

Hey MsRuby it means they've made a decision about the sponsor - the sponsorship approval letter will probably be sent via mail but you can always call the CIC call centre if you're (or the sponsor) is in Canada. It's good news, means your application has been sent to your visa office.

EDIT: sorry, I've been looking through your history. You already got your sponsorship approval, right? In that case, it just means they were delayed updating ecas with the information for the sponsor. When you got your sponsorship approval and the file was transferred to your visa office, that is the 'decision made'. They just updated it late. Once ecas goes into process in POS (your office), the applicant portion will say 'in process', if they're good at updating on time.

Hang in there MrJB, you should definitely receive your AOR this week. I got mines on a Saturday.

Thanks Zarilenth! Yes when I clicked on it, it said " We sent a letter on April 1,2014 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us."

We got an email confirming that hubby is eligible to sponsor. Is this referring to that email or they are actually sending a letter in the mail also? Did yours change as well?

That's exactly what mine said as well (and it updated late - i couldn't even get into ecas until a week after getting the email), and I never got a physical letter sent in the mail. I assume that's what ecas always says, regardless as to whether they sent an email or letter.

Ok great, thanks so much for the speedy and detailed response.

Hubby said " come on, it's CIC we are talking about. They won't have time to send a letter, lol" he also believes its the email they are referring to. We also took a couple of days to logged in after we received the email.

Hah, no worries. Reading the forum keeps me busy at work, lol. It's odd though, they send physical letters to certain people even if they've listed an email address. CIC just likes to keep us guessing.

You are absolutely right! With all the members and info that's on this forum, I still can't pin a situation to the T.
