They've updated the website...

They upped the processing time to 40 days, and it says they're working on applications received March 28th.

At least the processing time matches what's actually been happening now. There must have been a lot of March applicants.

is there any negative impact if I request a case note?

not when they are ordered online. i've read if they are ordered by mail, then CIC doesn't like it. perhaps someone with experience can explain why.

It slows them down because someone has to manually find your file, get all the notes that they're entered online printed, scanned, copied, and physically mailed to you. Email they just attach it and bam, it's off.

Hey Folks,
This is my first post to this thread. I had sent my application on 25th March, CIC received on 27th March and I received AOR on 8th May. I believe following are the next step:

My VISA office is - New Delhi, India.

1. I will receive an email from CIC confirming that I am eligible for this sponsoship - In a week or so
2. My Wife will receive an email with a confirmation that the application has been received by NDVO and the processing has begun. This email will also have an UCI assigned for my wife - In around 3 weeks.
3. CIC will ask for Passport to be submitted - Dont know when

Query: Here is my query:
I was planning to apply for my wife's visitor visa so that she could come and meet me for a couple of weeks in July. However, if CIC asks for Passport and keep it with them till she gets PR then she cannot travel anywhere outside India.

Is there an alternate solution to this?

Thanks!

You will not get a passport request until the very end of the process. The process is generally quite long although off the top of my head I don't know New Delhi processing times I would guess that the earliest you'd get your PPR is around christmas.

ACHEM... SPONSORSHIP APPROVED 5/9! WOOOOOOOO!!!! HAPPY DANCE... HAPPY DANCE...HAPPY DANCE!!! (AND YES, I MEAN TO BE IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I CAN'T STOP SHOUTING IT OUTLOUD!!!!!!!!)

and our application got sent to Ottawa!!!!! I was worried it would go to the US because of my previous exclusion order. NOPE!!!!

Hey congrats!!!!!! Now you can enjoy your weekend greatly :) Awesome news!!!

However, I checked the processing times today and it seems like it went from 34 days to 40 days. But the even more disturbing news is that even though it updated itself 1 week later, after just 1 week, it only shows them advancing one day, from March 27 to March 28 :( I was expecting them to be working on applications from May 3. Boy, they must've received a ton of applications in March. :-\

Hi Rhcohen:

Congrats for your SA.. :)

I was checking your previous posts and found that CIC received our application for Sponsorship almost at same time (March 14, 2014). I received my AOR on April 11. I called CIC Call Center atleast 4 times and they are saying that my application for Sposnorship is still in process. They told me that they are verifying some information internally. I have no idea what they are referring too. I'm sure that I am meeting all the eligibility condition for Sponsorship and file was very structured as per checklist but still they delayed a lot.

Do you have any idea why they are delaying application? what kind of information usually they verify?

Thanks and Have a Great Weekend.. :)

unfortunately, i can not say for sure. our application was delayed because a form was missing. best guess is that they are checking the sponsor's criminal record and perhaps verifying employment? i honestly don't know how CIC handles applications. Perhaps it depends on where the applicant comes from? I would continue to call weekly until you hear something, and order GMSC notes, which can tell you what is going on. The thing is with the notes, it takes about 30 days to get them. You may want to consider calling your Member of Parliament (MP) too. Apparently CIC is obligated to respond to their inquiry in a reasonable amount of time. This is usually recommended when it's been well over the processing time. Doing a search on this forum or on google will give more information about doing that.

i'm pretty sure someone posted a link and an explanation in the first thread - spousal sponsorship. i'm sure doing a keyword search will bring it up.
i don't know the link off hand, and have been told it's easy to find through a google search. "how to contact my member of parliament".

YES! Got my Australian AOR just this second.
Can someone please update the spreadsheet?

Hi guys!! I tried this morning to access my hubby's UCI# and it states there this,

Sponsorship:
We received your application to sponsor on March 27, 2014.
