Hi Sameer,

I'm not sure about the letter regarding further verification, but I know that my sponsor approval took much longer as they had to verify that I was not on welfare with the province. Despite the turnaround time with the province being 1-2 business days, CIC still took almost a month to verify that. It is probably just something like this.

Thanks for your prompt response..:)
My fingers are crossed and hopefully they will process my Sponsorship request soon..:-)

Hi Guys!

It's been 31days from now since CPC-M received our application, hopefully we will receive an email of GOOD NEWS from them! :) :) :)
Can you guys give us their number to call if ever it will lapsed for 34 days of processing as per their website. My husband in Canada surely will have to call them but I haven't have their toll free number.

Thanks guys!

Only call them once the 34 days has elapsed.

Thank you so much!

It has been 39 days since they received my application. I tried ringing the call centre yesterday but te queue was more than an hour so I thought I will ring today. I tried now and the machine said they are experiencing high levels of calls and my call cannot be transfered. Anyone else experiencing similar situation?

we are in same situation but we haven't called today , we are waiting till Thursday when they update since they said they are working on app recieved on 20 . They gave us a temporary file number and indicated they have our package. So we are just keeping our fingers crossed , let be sure to get something before Thursday or call them , you can try though . Coz at least we know ours is there and we have a temporary file number assigned to us ( not a udi) or uci)

are you calling the CIC line from outside of canada? that 888 number does not accept calls from outside canada...

If you guys are going to call, the very best chance you have at getting through is within the first 30 minutes of them opening. Which is 8am your local time wherever you are in Canada. Sometimes even calling 5 or 10 minutes before they're supposed to open and you will get through.

Another vote for this tactic! They received mine on 24th and I'm going slightly crazy watching the processing time tick up just when I expected mine to be done.

I know a few days isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things... but I'll feel better knowing that I didn't forget anything/make any stupid mistakes, and the package is on it's way to London.

we mailed out application on Mar 31, haven't heard of anything yet...is it normal?

the 34 days starts from they received the application, how long usually it takes to get the file number or the first email?

Calling from within Canada. I tried again and I am in the queue now. One hour long, holy moly! :)

I managed to get through to the call centre finally. They said they don't see my application in the system yet. The guy said they are nearly there with applications received on Mar 21. He said give it 2-3 more days.

is that mean they are processing the applications received on Mar 21? so from Mar 21, the first step will be 34 days?

if they received my application on Mar 31, count 34 days from Mar 31 will be May 04, and on May 04, hopefully they will start process my application? So the whole step 1 takes more than 34 days...?

They only update the website once a week... it seems like the processing time has now slipped to 39 days, and that should be reflected tomorrow. As I understand the value quoted on the website should approximate the total time to processes applications (rather than just start them).
