I've been waiting (impatiently) for it all week! It seemed as though most people got their SA only a few days after the AOR. We got our AOR last Friday, so this makes one week for SA.

If you got your AOR yesterday, I'm guessing you should be expecting SA sometime in the next week. Good luck, and thanks!

Hi All,
I am very confused as to what all the abbreviations mean that everyone is using to update themselves. Can some explain what AOR and SA mean? I know our package was received on 3/17. which one are we suppose to receive first, and how long does it generally take to receive these? We still have not gotten anything, and I am keeping myself from stressing because it hasn't been 30 days yet.

Thanks!

AOR = Acknowledgement of Receipt. The sponsor will get an email stating that CPC-M and received the application. This usually means they've opened it and started to work on evaluating the sponsor.

SA = Sponsorship Approval. The sponsor will get another email (or maybe a letter) saying that they have been approval as a sponsor. The application will then be sent to your visa office for processing of the applicant.

It can depend. I didn't get any word from them and it was past the 29 days they stated on the website, so I called them and they said it was 'in process'. I got my Sponsorship Approval pretty late, and there is still someone waiting from the January thread.

Thank you for the explanation! What number did you use to call them, and where do you find contact information? Is it a concern we haven't received any word about AOR yet??? Now i'm getting nervous. I know that the application has not been sent back to us, so that's promising!

just checked the website and they are currently working on apps received 3/12. SOOOOOO CLOSE!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat as you!
Our package was also received on the 17th of March and I'm getting anxious and waiting.
Please do keep us updated...

How is it some people got AOR within 8 days and 12 days while other's haven't for almost 28 days?
I don't get the inconsistency.

28 days is pretty normal actually. I think looking for patterns is just going to make your head spin. It's on a case by case basis. The only ones that we know are being fast tracked are Syriian applicants.

Not true..
See the March spreadsheet, there are some people from Manila who got an AOR in 8 days or so!

It must be different based on where the application is coming from and what office is handling the processing. i agree, trying to figure it out is just going to make you nuts! i'm going on the belief that since the website says they haven't gotten to the day they received my app, there is still hope all is ok. this is a tough process, and i know first hand how sickening it can be. just reading these threads makes me want to vomit! :)

I am the admin for the March spreadsheet, I know what it says. That doesn't mean that Manila applicants are getting fasttracked because if they were I think you would see all of them with really quick times, but there is only two. It is kinda weird but we don't know what happened, could be a new gov't employee who grabbed a couple of files off of the wrong pile for all we know.

Lol..yeah, I'm just checking my email every 30 minutes, both inbox and junk, and end up so annoyed when it is not an AOR!

um yeah, i just texted my husband if he'll give me his password so i can check and not go insane! he barely uses his email, and we didn't start checking until this week, so now i'm freaking out he received it weeks ago, and it got put into spam, and since deleted. trying not to go crazy over here! :-X
