Hi everyone,

Nice to see some happy stories on here!

My wife and I also applied in March. We live in Korea and applied through Manila. I'm a Canadian citizen and she's Korean. I was approved as a sponsor a while back, and our ECAS status is "In Process". We were contacted for additional documents in August, which we sent immediately.

I got an email from the Manila office yesterday...when I saw it I thought we had gotten approval for sure! Unfortunately, it was just a request for another police certificate!! What's that all about? We submitted one in March with the original application and I didn't know it would 'expire' so quickly. Has anyone else experienced this? Or two separate requests for additional documents (months between each other)? The most frustrating thing is the email doesn't explain why the second police certificate is required. For example, if the first was deficient in some manner we'd like to know that so we could do it properly this time. Grrr....Below is the email from the Manila office.

Any help is appreciated!

My husband got the request for 2 additional police certificates during the application process. I think mostly to assure that he didn't go on a crime spree after sending in the clean record He had nothing to hide, but I agree that it's a total pain!

He landed a week ago so it's not necessarily a negative thing.

Hello all! Congratulations on your progress to become PR!
I landed in Canada on August 5th and still waiting for my PR card! Im going back to Poland in mid December and im scared i wont get the card till then (and its required to travel). How long it usually takes to get PR card? They told me it should be only 6 weeks,but seems its more than that. Thanks

I was reading that when landing in Canada, the applicant must have a 'Confirmation of PR' letter. Does that come from the embassy?

Hey Kan_Sri Congrats, very happy everything has come through for you.

Just want to say we got our Passport back with visa today, what a relief finally it's all over. ;D
