I called CIC call center, they informed me that Scarborough has received my file on August 7th.

Yes, Test letter is dated August 11th, Monday, and I received it Today (August 14th), and Test date is September 5th.

Well, I don't know what to say why your application is in the local office for 7 months. May be depends on the officer. :-X

Hello fellow applicants,

I have a question that I am hoping someone would be able to answer.

My timeline is as below:

Citizenship
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 7, 2014.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on March 7, 2014. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on April 22, 2014.

My Received line disappeared on July 25, 2014

I called CIC today (August 14, 2014) to ask them which local office has my application and the officer said that my application is still in Sydney and hasnt been transferred to the local office.

Would you all know why my line would disappear and my file wont be transferred?

I see other March applicants getting letter of test dates and dont know why file hasnt moved forward yet.

Any help on this question will be appreciated.

Thanks

Since your Received line disappeared, which means Background checks are completed. So, please be patient, your file may get transferred anytime from now. It also depends on what is your local office? Mississauga and Scarborough are the fastest local offices. :-X

I would not care too much about the "Received" line. We passed our test a few days ago and our "Received" line is still present...
I doubt this is related in any way with the background checks or the transfer to the local office.

It depends on every local office and citizenship officer who interviews you.
Usually, citizenship officer's primary goal is to ensure that you have met the residency days, they do this by thoroughly verifying your passport stamps and the absences you have declared.
Unless you have a complex situation such as unemployment during residency period which is accompanied with travel outside Canada, or too many entry/exists into Canada with inconsistent stamps, or passport stamps which are not in English or French and not translated ones, it should all be fine.
Best thing to do is to carry with you as many proofs as possible to prove your residency period that you have declared in the application. Rest all will fall in place if you confidently prove your residency.
