Last oct when i came back to canada from phils i paid 550, travel tax was included in my ticket fare. I pay it to the airline with the ticket i think about that much 16oo+

My question is, since the marriage occurred outside the Philippines, does my husband need to register our marriage with NSO? Is this necessary? Please advise.

Yes, one of the documents that he will be required is the Record of Marriages,
the best way to prove that he is not married to somebody else is by registering
the marriage.

My wife has a letter from CEM saying she needs to complete PDOS from the CFO which has daily seminars with 40 slots available and they will give her a certificate enabling her to leave . On the CFO website they talk about PDOS as above and aslo Guidance Counceling seminar and there is only 15 slots available Tuesdays and Fridays and must be by an appointment, On completion there is also a certificate. Which one is needed to be completed? The one the embassy is talking about or GCS as per the CFO site. Have you completed yours yet if so which one?

The one from the Canadian Embassy is optional, its good if she takes it...but not compulsory.
The one that need appointment and 15 slots a day Tuesdays and Fridays is compulsory for citizens
taking residence in another country. She will get a stamp that will allow her to leave the country
If she has not the stamp she may be refused to the plane. I she has not the passport now she can
make the seminar and return for the sticker when visa is ready and passport is available.

Yup I did and will be leaving Phil's tom morning..I did the seminar and got the certification,it was said guidance counselling program and yes you need to book an appointment because it is just few slots .i was asking our agency about other seminar but it does not really needed especially if you run out of time.guidance counselling is okay to leave the Phil's ,Gcp or gcs stands for guidance counselling program,the other program is still the same but just the complete info about your place,culture ,protection of Filipino wife,about husband etc.She needs to attend seminar in order to get sticker and are allowed to leave the country.She also needs to have a photocopy of pr ,passport and visa.and remind her to not sign the permanent confirmation until she's infron of immgration officer in Canada .she needs also two valid id's ,marriage cert,have to pay 400,photocopy of id's..I'll find you a info about the requirements

The P550 terminal fee is gone now since February if you are departing from Manila. This is for tickets purchased after February departing out of Manila only. It is included in price of ticket I believe.

I have a question regarding the CFO requirements.

A little background. My partner had been in Canada since November on a TRV and we returned to Phils together in April, me for 2 week vacation. We immediately applied for another TRV, hoping to get a multiple-entry so that we could return to Canada together, take vacations and have the freedom to travel, while waiting for the PR process. We have applied as M-F conjugal partners (long story) so were prepared for a very long wait.

We were granted a new TRV on April 21 and my partner received her passport back with a single-entry TRV last Tuesday. We booked a flight for her to return to Canada the following Monday, exactly a week after I left her, having to be back at work. Two days later, on Thursday, we received an e-mail with CoPR and passport request for our PR. What a surprise!!! Essentially is says she has to confirm that she is able to land in Canada before July 31 - no problem there. In the attachment it says that if she is already in Canada, she can send her passport to Ottawa instead of Manila, provided she will be in Canada for at least 90 days - no problem there (her return ticket is already booked for October).

Our plan is for my partner to fly to Canada on the TRV as planned on May 4. We will then send her passport to Ottawa, not Manila. We understand she will have the CoPR/Visa stamped in Ottawa and returned to us in Toronto. She will then have to leave the country as a visitor and return as a permanent resident. I have read here that some just "flagpole" at the US border, not even entering the US - drive out of Canada and do a U-turn returning to the Canada border. Clearly this would be preferable than flying back to Manila just to meet the CFO requirement.

If she is able to "flagpole", she will have left the Phils as a tourist. I am sure we will both be travel back to the Phils (we have a house there) within the next year, however we were not really planning to fly back before July 31 unless it was necessary for the PR.

My question: Has anyone had experience with leaving the Phils as a tourist, becoming a PR of Canada, without registering with the CFO first?

If all works out we would prefer not to have to return to Phils just to land in Canada before July 31. I am then guessing that she would have to meet the CFO requirement the next time she returns to the Phils and leaves again, probably completing the GCP as well.

Hi Awesomeg. My spouse included a Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) in his application. Isn't this a proof that he is not married to someone else before we got married?

What you will need is a Marriage Certificate issued by the State of California. Avoid extra dealings with NSO, you will cause yourself excruciating delays.

Our problem lies in that she is with her biological Father, and cannot be located, only phone calls and text messages to communicate. We have asked to have Her brought to Davao only to get the medical completed to satisfy CIC. The Father refuses. I understand that the medical has to be completed, and CIC has given 30 days or our application for PR may be rejected. Because my Daughter cannot be physically located, how can we proceed with our application? Has any body else here encountered a similar situation?

If she is not going to travel she does not need the medical,
you need to clarify that with Immigration, that she is not traveling.
(if she can not be located I assume she is not traveling)

Yes, If she gets the CENOMAR probably would be enough..
you can proceed and if they request anything else you will need to comply....
