Hello everyone,
We are looking into sponsorship process and here is a question:
The CIC sites gives the following: "Spouses and common‑law partners of Canadian citizens and permanent residents in Canada who wish to apply for permanent resident status are no longer required to have legal immigration status provided that they have an eligible sponsor."
Does that mean that the moment a sponsor becomes approved for sponsoring a spouse in Canada, that spouse doesn't have to renew a visitor visa or apply for something else?
Another question is: what if a dependant child under 18 years old (who will not be going to Canada and still has to take the medical exam) doesn't have a passport to present during the medical examination? Will another document be enough or they would have to actually make that passport just for the med. ex?
Thanks a lot
