I second that. There's a few of us experienced with fraudulent marriage.

Here's a hug for everyone :)

In some cases I'd find it concerning if I'm 61 and a 25 year old hot little thing is putting the moves on me. What 25 year old wants to get intimate with someone who's old enough to be her dad, ... especially on a long term basis?
So many old guys get sucked in by that. In some cases it might be a genuine attraction, .. but in 999 out of 1,000, .. I think not :o

I know a guy who almost fell into that trap. He was 50, she was 26. He was convinced he was just such a catch, so attractive, and charming that it was obvious a 26 year old girl from a foreign country would fall in love with him, online. He was even talking about having kids with this person.

Turns out she wasn't real. It was a dude trying to get money.

But the joke would've been on the "woman" in the end. This "prince charming" there lives in his mom's basement and is flat broke.

From a male perspective, ...

Get to know the other person well before going where ever they are with plans to marry (I knew my own wife very well through several hours of chat every day for about a year).

Know about their friends and family. If they're interested in you for the right reasons they wont be able to wait for you to get there so they can take you around to meet everyone.
On the other hand if they don't want to introduce you around I'd find that very fishy and wonder why they don't want you to know the people that mean a lot to them.

If you want extra closeness make sure the partners spiritual beliefs are close to your own, .. or at least that you can live with what the other believes without expecting them to change for you. If it does happen it sure wont be over night . ;D

Strangely enough I have a workmate that went to the Philippines and married a 26 year old (He's 52) and they zipped through the CIC like shot through a gun. 8 months, .. start to finish, ... while my wife and I who are only 7 years apart are still waiting for her visa after 15 months. Now that really sucks. :o

Yeah there really is no rhyme or reason to CIC!! We have what I would think is a really straight forward case (met in person, dated in person for 5 months, kept in contact and traveled to see each other, married and living together for almost 7 years, 3 kids) and yet we still see loads of people getting approval and landing that sent in their application months after us ::)... oh to be a fly on the wall there... well a fly that can type and approve all of us ASAP ;D

We could make a spread sheet tracking all our bad jokes, gifs, off topic posts, and how often we rant?

As politically incorrect as it is to even think this it makes a person who's documents are taking so long wonder if the Embassy in Manila is like most other offices there in the Philippines where you pay extra and get yours done first, while those who don't pay wait. ;)

My husband and I have a 16 year age gap (I'm the younger one). We met through mutual close friends drunk in a bar (everyone was drunk - no one can quite remember who introduced us - good times). Neither of us was out trolling for someone younger or older - it just happened. I'm financially independent and have a fairly well paying job - so it wasn't like I was out looking for someone older and financially stable. My husband is American - so it's not like he desperately needed Canadian PR. Again, it just happened.

When it comes to the 25+ year age gaps, I think it takes an exceptional couple and exceptional circumstances to really make that work.
