Lost Passport

Hi,
I am an international student in Ontario. I lost my passport but I have applied my new study permit with the old passport number because my study permit is expiring soon. I did not know that passport number will change when I will get my new passport. Now, I am waiting for my police report to apply my new passport. Is it going to become any problem for me in future. Please help!

Use the web form to notify CIC that you lost your passport and you're awaiting a replacement. Quote your UCI and application number on the form.

It may delay your application but shouldn't cause a problem as long as you keep them updated
