Hello!

I'm currently holding Study and Co-op Work Permits, and am seeking a transition to a TFW Work Permit.

As I consider Saskatchewan as an option, I was wondering if any member here could please help me with the following questionings about this province.

1- How hard or easy is it to get a sponsor for positions like Food/Beverage Server and Food Counter Attendant/Kitchen Helper?
2- Does the employee need to prove to have had previous work experience on those positions in order to get a positive LMO?

Thank you!

Hello,

My employer just applied for and received a positive LMO for me for a position located in Saskatchewan. It took 9 weeks. To answer your questions:

1. Not sure of the chances for these exact positions, but overall Saskatchewan is one of the provinces where they are looking for more workers as compared to say Ontario and BC in my opinion.

2. It is not essential, but it definitely helps a lot to have work experience in the specified field.

Good luck!

I've been offered a job in Saskatchewan in a similar industry, but its at managerial level so we naively assumed it would be a bit easier. Applied for an LMO on 29th July, so it's been 12 weeks and 2 days so far, and we're STILL WAITING.

if u apply under pnp work permit like british colombia and alberta it takes 5 working days in hospitality industries in new laws noticed only in work permit in hospitalilty and in these two province u can get lmo quickly because alberta and british colombia sign contract with canadian gov to provide immidate short skill labour as soon as possible .however if u apply normal work permit in other trades it takes 5 to six weeks to get lmo .hrsdc has different timlines according to the province like if u apply for residency in federal skilled worker lmo takes 6 to 7 month and in pnp program it has priorty lmo takes 3 to 4 month so hrsdc has different timeline depends on volume and province. you also asked question about how hard it is . actually it depends on the agents would deal you like if agent advertise properly and fulfil all requirement according to the hrsdc deaprtment and future employer have good history and bussiness .so it will not be harder for anyone .most important thing if any agent miss any single requirement according to hrsdc then they would definatley reject your lmo because they are very strict with requirement . i hope you got your answer if not plzz feel free to contact me .you can also check hrsdc requirement in hrsdc.gc.ca ;)

thank albertian for all information

i understand what is required in provinces but i dont know job market but i keep checking jobbang and there is plenty of adds.
its difficult for me to decie where i should stay
Most important factor is PNP, Saskatchewan is great because of PNP : Hospitality Sector Pilot but cities there are small its good from one side but small cities mean smaller job market.
I just looked at jobbank BC and there is more job opportunities but BC is more expensive and im not sure i can afford to live there on my own.
plus its one of PNP semi skilled requirements - Ability to Become Economically Established in B.C.
"The failure of applicants to meet the LICO(Canada’s Low Income Cut-off) thresholds is the major reason for refusal of applicants in this category"
im not sure about Alberta because it is required to have 3 years of experience

I'm concerned about my chances of getting positive LMO

what do you think in which province i have biggest chance to get nomination ?
