I have another question if anyone can help me out...

In the case of an approved LMIA, would my boyfriend be able to come back right away or does he have to apply and wait for work permit as well?

Few questions here:

1. Is it a dual purpose LMIA or just PR support
2. Is he from a visa exempt country?

I think it's dual purpose because he said he didn't have enough points for PR...his work paid for it
He's from Ireland

He can apply for a visa on entry then, as long as it is an LMIA that will grant a work permit.

As long as he has all of his documentation etc, they will issue it at the airport on entry as above.

Hi Guys,
My employer is applying for my LMIA this week. The consultant he is hiring said we will get the LMIA in 4-6 weeks. He said sometime LMIA got approved in 10 days which i think is true but not with every case. Anybody know the average time LMIA takes to get approved? Thanks

LMIA Interview-positive- done.

Dear Friends.
I would like to share my time line.
*13 Oct 2015 LMIA filed.
*Dual intend / Ontario-medium wage.
*December file transferred to NB.
*Week 18" Interview happened-Yesterday Morning.
My employer says it's positive interview.
Case officer also mentioned 'Good application'.
*Waiting for official letter-snail mail in next 10 days-to proceed next step.

I tried old CEC 2014 by my self, messed up, and rejected May 2015.
I thanks God for this rejection.
Because thousands of 2014 candidates stocked in the middle of progress.
Of course, rejection was painful but it makes me to start new progress.
My company found a good Lawyer and made it through.

Once when I get the LMIA letter could I cross the border and get work permit?

I hope all the best for you guys.

Thanks.

Guys... APPROVED!!!!

My employer received +30 CVs but was able to handle SC. My process started on 10/Sep. interview was mid January. Requested proof of ongoing ad in jobbank and some wording adjustment on the job offer (adding "permanent"). It was issued last Tuesday, but the result comes by email.

One intimate detail. I've got this news one hour AFTER I was laid off from my current job. At least it spared me the effort to do that within a month.

Thank you guys for being a relief and motivation. And most of all thank God for this miraculous accomplishment. I've never worked in Canada before. I met my employer attending to a conference here in Brazil.

Also thanks to Juliana Dueck from Entry Canada, for being such a great immigration lawyer.

All the best!!!

Congratulation lucky you, hope for a good start at Canada

Hope you hear a good news soon, I am waiting too in Ontario not yet any interview. If you are from exempt country yes but if not you need to wait until your work permit is issued

^^^ this is the accurate answer, unless the position has a wage of $49 per hour or above in which case it would be processed in a few days.

I'm wondering if this is the case for Nova Scotia as well...

Does anyone have a link to this information?

Does anyone knows after interview how many days it takes for decision to come to employer?

Dual intend LMIA/Ontario medium wage/NOC 5225

My employer had a interview 17, Feb and the case officer said
result will be arrived in next 10 (business?) days.
So, I'm waiting for update.
Sounds like you guys wait for far more than 10 business days, right?

Thanks.

Mike.
