Oh thats interesting, can we do that? I mean cross the border and get the work permit ? Than applying for a restoration n stuff?

I'm from a visa exempt country so im pretty sure i take my passport and my lmia and my documents to the border, show them everything and they issue the work permit.

Faxed it over after the phone conversation.

Oh that is awesome. My timelines (with your resubmission) are almost the same as yours. What I would give for approved LMIA this week (my current WP expires next week). Hopefully I will see you at the border :)

LMIA approved.

SC called my employer today to just go through a couple of follow up questions.

Mainly to do with why a certain person wasnt considered for the position.

The reason my employer gave satisifed the VO and granted my lmia.

So my timeline for those wondering.

August 12th - Original forms submitted.
September 12th - Original forms never recieved, resubmitted.
October 3 - Payment taken and file number given on same day.
November 11th - LMIA approved.

The wait is finally over.

Thats not bad at all this time. Technically took 6 weeks from the time payment was taken. Someone is working finally. Lol

Lawyers are dealing with it, and I am going through my HR person to go through the lawyers, and she doesn't want to harass them further, but she said that there has been no decision and we are still waiting to hear back. I assume they have a file number by now it has been so many months? I am in Manitoba

hey guys,

its good to see so many people getting positive response.

NOC CODE: 2171
wages: 33$/hr
Province: Quebec (Montreal)
LMIA filed: 23rd September
File number recieved: 24th September
Current status: Employer contacted Emploi-Quebec who informed they're awaiting information from Service Canada.

Don't know how much more time is it going to take. Already been 8 weeks and still no positive outcome :(

mine is same date and but different noc code, still waiting

are you based in quebec too ?

bro its better in Ontorio since you'd require approval only from the Federal government and not the provincial government. In my case I need approvals from both. With my case they had asked to re-submit the forms on 23rd October and as i see it takes 8 weeks from there. Fortunately my employer is very helpful and is regularly following-up with ERDC per my instructions. hope we get a decision soon :D

Does anyone know if it has any influence on LMIA decision if I leave Canada in middle of the process? My current work permit expired and I have to leave until new one is issued and the process is already started.
Tnx.

Wow, congrats jay!! We all had fingers crossed. Is this the only call they gave to your employer? What did they say, why a certain person wasn't considered for the position? Cheers
