I have not heard any timelines of any processed LMIA after the moratorium. Yours happened prior to moratorium and took 3 months. I wish it is faster this time since the application for LMIAdecreased by 75 %.. It is supposed to be faster now knowing that Service Canada has few backlogs.

Well, don't expect acceleration of processing, my employer applied a day before new rules were announced, but I'm no 17th week of waiting, file number was received 3 weeks ago. Province: BC

And I waited for another 3 months to get medical exam request.. it's a pain in the ass to be frankly. Not sure how long shall I wait for passport request and visa approve.
And when these finally over, there are another 13 months waiting to go through under CEC to become PR.

Are you already in canada or applying from your own country and then coming over?

You don't need to have a medical exam nor passport request? Unless you are applying from outside canada, which I can then imagine the process to take longer.

I haven't seen any for BC on here and was wondering the timeframe. Alberta seem to be providing LMIAs quite quickly. Our lawyers were optimistic with 6-8 weeks. 14 weeks before you even got a file number? Was your application sent back at all for amendments?

I agree with Brit, seems a while, I would
Probably call service canada and see what's up. 14 weeks without a file number is weird.

But as i said, if he's doing the whole process from outside canada, it may take longer for the whole process.

Yes jaybaker I agree the processing from outside the country takes usually way longer than inside. Alberta processing seems to be faster since the unemployment in the province is less than6%. If 14weeks past witn no lmia file number then i am guessing something wring with the application and needs plenty of follow up with SC

I think it wasn't sent back. Anyway, a lawyer hired by my potential employer doesn't share much details, so all I know is date when application was made and that file number was received ~2-3 weeks ago.

I received my file number today in snail mail - however the letter was dated September 29th.

Found out that the date stamp on my received application from when they took the cheque was september 12th.

So even though i only got the file number a week ago today, the application has been inputted into their system for a month?

Who knows, if so...hurry up! hopefully this week will bring good news for people.
