Correct. IECs are different from other work permits. They don't benefit from implied status. So you have to stop working as soon as your IEC expires if you don't have a new work permit already approved.

First of all, congrats, that is good news in any case! $20 would put it in the low wage category as well as not being in the high demand trade list. Only NOCs in the high demand list which are also in the high wage category get the 10 day processing, as well as those with a wage in the top 10% for that province. So are you sure it wasn't a previously approved LMO without a name on it and the employer just added the name?

If not, then it's a damn good time but way off the normal processing times

My employer applied for LMIA on July 09 and got requested additional documents on Aug 07, and got file number on Aug 13.
I'm very anxious to get a positive LMIA.

My employer has applied for LMIA on Aug 8th. Still waiting for any kind of confirmation that the process has initiated. Is there any way to atleast check if the process is underway. My NOC is 5241 (3D Animator for a Video game/ Animation Company) with a wage of 30$/hour, everything genuine. Fingers Crossed.

after we submitted the additional documents they charged $1,000 fee from my owner.
