Hi guys, I'm newbie here. I'm a nurse here in Dammam, Saudi and just recently found an employer who is very willing to process and sponsor me to work as a live-in caregiver. I have some questions that need some answers... hope you can help me.

1. My employer is just about to submit her application for the LMO.., how long does it usually take for LMO under LCP to be processed? She is located in Calgary, Alberta.

2. I'm planning to send my application for the work permit ONLINE. Anyone here who have used the online service?

Please share your experience about the online application of work permit.

I need some time approximation because I need to inform my current employer about this too coz I need their permission and cooperation.

Any answer will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

2. Posted processing time for work permits in Abu Dhabi is 7 months, your could be longer, as most LCPs require an interview and speak test or IELTs.

That 7 months I think is for the MAIL IN APPLICATION. its only 5 months in Riyadh, Saudi.
How about the ONLINE PROCESS?

After submitting the application online, the CIC Riyahd will send you email regarding medical and police clearance. Oh well, maybe this will be a case to case basis. 5 months processing is the ideal for complete application, it will take longer if the embassy will ask for more documents from both parties.

Usually if you completed YOUR requirements, with the 5 months timeframe the CIC will send you and your employer a letter stating that they need something more. If both of you has completed the required documents, in a week you will receive AOR, then a month after is the medical. In some cases, the CIC will send you email at the same time, AOR and Medical plus the police clearance from Saudi (unless you can provide this PC when you submit your application).

I suggest, gather all the required documents needed PLUS additional proof of identification, certificates, non related certificate of employement etc. Tell you employer to submit the latest T4, some proof of their living, if they have previous (current) nanny make sure that they will include that in their application.

So if you're under LCP, cic will surely request for the police clearance and medical?

Police clearance is really one of my concerns because my current employer (hospistal) is really strict. They don't allow us to go outside our accomodation without their permission. We need to write a letter asking for permission and the reason and so on. Even if we want to go shopping we need to ask them first. We're like prisoners here.

I'm a live in caregiver from Peru and I've been working for 15 month now, my boyfriend is a canadian citizen and we just got engage last week.... We are planing to get married this year, but I dont know if its possible for me to get married first and then go back to work to Toronto (well the family that I work with just move to Toronto and I had to move with them.. we used to live in Alberta, where I met my fiance and where we are planing to marry)....
I would like to know if its possible to continue my contract after my marriage or after I get married I'm not allowed to work knowing that I have a work permit till September 2014..... Should I wait till my contact is done or should I married before and quit my job?
I will appreciate all your help...

I found mine online... there are lot of caregiver/nanny job sites out on the web... just be patient and active in sending them messages and emails...

That's a good start... just continue doing it... if they ask for your cv send it... and tell something about yourself... hobbies and interest...
