Hello friends, I just got approved yesterday, here's my timeline:
Applied May 15th, paid $155.
Contacted my MP's office towards the end of October.
Received request to pay $100 on October 6th, paid it the same day.
Received two updates on November 19th in the morning, my status changed to "approve" in the afternoon.
Now just waiting to receive my physical permit so I can start working.
Thank you for all of your support, and I hope the rest of May applicants are sorted out very soon.

I called CIC agent on Oct 23(several calls before this date) as the processing date on CIC website was beyond May 16
Nov 13 (Friday), I went to my MP office and gave them my info - based on info shared on this valuable forum
Nov 16 - I got a call from the MP office that inquiries about my application has been forwarded to CIC and I will get a response in 10 days
Nov 17- I checked my CIC account and status changed to Approved.
Nov 18 -got email from CIC - In Canada Approval Letter.
185 days of waiting

So heres the thing. I applied on 16th may and have been waiting for 6months now..im totally loosing my cool and patience, feels like they have just missed out on my file, like my application never existed... Have emailed every1 possible, since I am out of canada cannot contact MP in person Mp does not care much I guess... I dont know if I will ever get my pgwp for which I have waited soo long... Cannot go out Canada for a vacation neither to my home country. I planned with my boyfriend a trip to Switzerland at the end of November, now all is in vain. Also, without a work permit, we can not get the medical insurance card... While fortunately my employer is fine with the "implied status".
Almost 5 months' wait...
I've sent an e-mail to CIC and also called them. The lady of the Telecenter told me that she would send a notification to VO. But I am wondering whether it works really.
But if we contact MP, do they also work for international students ? Thanks if someone can answer.

Hi, I am in the same situation, applied June 26th. Supposed to go to Europe in 4 weeks but still waiting for the PGWP. Luckily, I can keep working too.. I contacted my MP, they told me I would get my reply this week, today is the end of the work week and no reply yet so I will be contacting them again. A lot of students here have gotten their approvals quickly after contacting their MP. Guess I'm not that lucky but worth a try. They are supposed to help you, that's what they are there for.gwylily said:

Meanwhile I'll be working on extending my passport and PGWP, but we'll be together (even if she's not allowed to work). And then as soon as I receive my new PGWP she will apply for OWP from within Canada.
Do you think if they refuse her a visitor visa it will negatively affect future applications (like an OWP)?
