Let's share timeline, PGWP March applicant

Hello Jubear,
Thank you....I am fully aware of that.
Another question pls.... I will be going on a 2weeks trip to US in Sept with my 2 kids but their TRVs expires in December. Can I request for visitor's record for them at the port of entry back to canada? - Due to my current worker status....even though I would have submitted my Study permit application by then.
Kindly advise as i do not want my son out of status.

Why do you need a visitor record if you are going to the US for only 2 weeks with your kids' TRVs expiring in December?

I don't think you need to worry about that. Your kids are fine. Once you return with them, you can then apply to extend (TRV) their stay in Canada.

If yours (TRV) is expired, but you have valid status such as a SOWP, then;

You and on behalf of your kids can request to return to Canada on your original temporary resident visa if you are only visiting the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon and that you return to Canada before the end of your approved stay (SOWP/TRVs) in Canada.

I believe your spouse will eventually get her OWP soon as they are currently working on April applications.

My spouse got his SP from our home country before coming to Canada....so I applied based on his initial SP when I arrived in April.

Once you submit the extension application your son will continue going to school even if his visa expires as he will be on implied status till CIC decide on his extension application.

First, a visitor record doesn't authorize re-entry. Secondly, your kids won't get new TRVs beyond the validity of their passports. That is just the standard for any document you apply for whether its a SP, WP or TRV, etc. So hopefully their passports have been renewed. Thirdly, I suggest you apply to extend your TRVs perhaps before you leave for US. This will give you and your kids implied status until CIC makes a decision. In case of anything and when at the POE on your return, make sure you have all your TRV application numbers & UCIs. CBSA Officers tend to check the system for such. It makes life a little easier. Also make sure you have your SOWP with you to further show your legal status.

Stay positive, friendly, and calm while engaging with the officers. You will be fine. Good luck.

Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the
CSE. Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include
your online Application Number that begins with a W.

5. If you receive your PGWP, please remember to visit the forum again and update us. Also, make sure that you renew your SIN by visiting your nearest Service Canada office at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?app=hme&ln=eng

** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Hi, i believe CIC exactly knows who has paid through CSE and who hasn't because they only asked me to upload the receipt ... Didn't ask to pay. Besides, in their request, i only had the option to upload document (receipt) and no way to pay.

Gather all evidence including your application number and let your MP know about your situation. To find your MP, use your current postal code via Parliament of Canada at: http://www.parl.gc.ca/Parlinfo/Compilations/HouseOfCommons/MemberByPostalCode.aspx?Menu=HOC.

4. If you paid only $155 and never paid the extra $100 for all OWP holders, please visit these two sites to pay the remaining balance:
a) Online Payment at: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/welcome.do?lang=en. Once you are there follow the instructions below:
Click continue below > Accept disclaimer > Immigration > Temporary residence > Open work permit holder fee > type 1 for number of
applications.

b) Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) at: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?_ga=1.63908399.108801500.1431902909
Use this online form to upload the PDF receipt you received. First fill in your UCI, address, phone etc. Scan and upload it to the
CSE. Also, type a short precise message (in the message box) indicating your reasons. In that message don't forget to include
your online Application Number that begins with a W.

5. If you receive your PGWP, please remember to visit the forum again and update us. Also, make sure that you renew your SIN by visiting your nearest Service Canada office at: http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/cgi-bin/sc-srch.cgi?app=hme&ln=eng

** New TRV for those who want to travel after receiving their PGWP. Processing fee is $100 (the required docs for application include; passport copy, face/head photograph, IMM5257E form, and a copy of your PGWP). Please be aware that your PGWP doesn't give you the right to return to Canada. You need a new TRV that you apply for as a worker NOT as a student. Great job Jubear... thanks a tone for posting the time lines regularly... As you would recall I submitted my application on 27th May along with restoration ( I went to restoration because CIC didnt get the 100 dollar receipt on time ). I have not received a single update since then (except for application transmission). No request for 100 dollars as well . I submitted the 100 dollars through CSE ON 28th May. Not receiving a single update is making me nervous. In your opinion can it take more than 16 weeks which I will complete on 12th September.

But since you applied for restoration, I would encourage you to seek for help from your MP in your area. I strongly believe that your situation is a little different and the processing of your PGWP can be expedited by the help of your area MP. Gather all documents, receipts, UCI #, and application # of your original application and go to the MP's office next week. He/she can help in situations like this. See note 3 under Members' timelines to locate your MP using the link I provided. Let me know what you find out from your MP's office. Good luck.
