You are absolutely right. But the only one problem in my case. She clearly said to us that our permits would be valid until our health insurance is valid. So to get 3 years PGWP + SWOP I would need to pay around $2400 (my last insurance cost me around 400 per year) to show her insurance for 3 years.
The only way for me is to try to cheat the system like to get an insurance, got permits and void insurance.
Svo,

Would the idea of going to a different border within your province interest you? Would the idea of first doing a FP as the principal applicant interest you? And then do your spouse's after.

Would the idea of going to a different province and hence heading to that province's border with the US interest you?

Sometimes you need a simple change or a different approach of doing something.

Cheers!

Hi just wanted to share my experience here:

Submitted online PGWP application on May 23, but luckily I found this forum a few days back and after reading through the posts, I decided to give the 'flagpoling' method a chance. This is mainly because the processing time keeps increasing, it was ~70 days back in May, and now it is close to ~100 days.

So I went to the USA side to report and ask them to give me the proof needed to do the 'flagpole', this was done with no hassle and the officer gave me the paper easily. I then came back to the Canadian side and report to the officer that I wanted to apply for PGWP, he asked me to go inside the CBSA building and do the application process then. Went in and directly greeted by an officer, I said that I came in for applying for PGWP, then he asked me straight-forward questions (length of program, degree, criminal record, etc). And I was only asked to give him the application IMM5710 and letter of completion. He then asked me to wait while he was processing the application, it took about ~45 minutes, and at the end I was granted the PGWP!! :) Mine is shorter than 3 years, but this is due to the fact that my passport is expiring in less than 3 years.

So some questiosn that I want to ask and hopefully someone can help:
1) So I just submitted a request to withdraw my online PGWP, I did this using the 'Case Specific Inquiry'. So does anyone know how long it will take them to process my withdrawal request? And should I make a separate request for the refund of the 255 bucks I had paid?
2) For the TRV, can I apply now? or should I wait until my online PGWP is OFFICIALLY withdrawn?

Thanks!

And good luck for everyone who's planning to flagpole!!

Warrior101,

1) You will receive an email from CIC giving you the details you need to know.
2. Yes you may apply for your new TRV. Apply as a worker. When you decide to apply is up to you really. But first consider the details in 1) above.

I hope that helps.

Cheers!

Thanks jubear!

For those who had applied online, and then decided to go to POE to apply in person and succeeded, can you guys give me an estimate on how long CIC will give you a response for your withdrawal request?

Thanks!

Hello Ms.mech,
I will throw the ball back in your hands; what province are you in? Are you still in New Brunswick?

Cheers!

No,In BC right now.

I dont know why you are feeling offended by just asking which border did you apply to.

Am not offended my friend :). I think you misunderstood the phrase. I'm always here to help out whenever I can. So, no worries.

Some of your options would be;
- Abbotsford-Huntingdon
- Douglas
- Pacific Hwy

Thanks a lot for listing borders out. And its good you are trying to help others out. I also knew borders as I live near one.

I was just curious, but not that curious.

Thanks again though.
