Yes - the nanny we are looking to hire is using an agency. They are saying basically the same thing, wait patiently. Hopefully it is soon, as we are coming up to the holidays where I am sure that will increase the timelines further.

Hello. And I hope the agency of your nanny or her consultant is on the list of authorized representative. Just to give you an idea, a lot of applications here are refused due to unauthorized representative. And I hope her agency knows what to do on her application form. Just a reminder!

Yes that true. But most of unauthorized rep what they do was assisting their client for their papers and accompanied their client to the visa center and the client will file by themselves.hope leaf1977 your nanny fall with the right people...

Thanks Ana. Since her status is 'passport status' I am hoping that it has gone far enough that they wouldn't stop the application at this point given how long it has been. I will certainly keep you posted!

Once the application was submitted to the VAC, Their status is always like that because all documents are complete, passport is the only lacking. So whether under evaluation or not, expect the VAC status is that.

It can be. But let us stay positive. As long as all your papers and information are genuinely true there is at least 90% approve!!!

Just an update - we contacted our local MP. They found out that the processing time may have increased to 6 months therefore we could be waiting till mid-January before a decision. We are hoping for sooner, but with the holidays it looks like it will be January before we know of a decision.

Anyone else hearing 6 months?

Upon sending documents to vac they will tell you wait until 6 mos. to process the visa, so I really expect it.
 
Yes - seems to be the same as what the web sites are saying as well. Was just hoping for before the holidays.

No news yet. Our local MP has asked us to reach out to them on January 19 (one day after the 6 month period) to find out the status. Our nanny has mentioned that her friends have also not heard that completed their application around the same time.

I will share any updates if I hear them.
