Since they have neglected to update their site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/about_us/mandate/citizenship.asp
for a few years now, I managed to get some newer data for those interested.

Very cool to see how the only 804 people applied the month that 4/6 rule was put into force. Also note they are approving applications at more than 2x the speed they are received. It is indeed working really well on cutting backlog and this is quite visible given people in the forum are being scheduled for tests and oaths in matters of 6 months or less.

Thanks for sharing the information. Was that via an ATIP request? Also, did you try / is it possible to get some insight on non-routine application processing timelines?

Thanks again!

Yes it was an ATIP request.
I assume you've tried ATIP your own case and did case-specific inquiries already? But no they don't really give out information on non-routine. I kind of tried asking but this is all I got.

This is a great job Anon! Thanks for sharing. So, we can observe that the average monthly intake (new applications) was 5000 after the new bill and they were taking decisions at 15,000 / month. We can assume that the backlog might have been significantly reduced or almost eliminated by now.
I feel, from Jan 2016, the number of applicants might have also reduced. Jan 2016 was only 3400. Also, for the period June 2015 to June 2016, all the new applicants would have easily applied earlier when the 3/5 rules were in effect. They were either purposefully delaying the applications (e.g. to apply together as a family; waiting other members to become eligible) or simply forgot to apply.
The new applicants might have increased form June 2016 and we can expect slightly longer processing times for the the current applicants.

anon3721, thanks for sharing this. I wonder when did you request the ATIP to get this information? June this year??
