Hi!
I wish someone could give me some insights..
I have a little situation here with my tax (2011, 2012 school tuitions that I did not report at that time- I thought I did report but nah...)
I live in Canmore, AB. I was told that I need to get both school tuition receipts for 2011 and 2012 and fill out two forms (Schedule S11 for provincial and Schedule 11 for federal)
I did not work in 2011 at all but I did work for the summer (4 months) in 2012. I reported this in 2012 but somehow CRA does not have any record of me having attended school in both years.

For what benefits would I have as I report these tuitions now? I know this is to have any contribution to any amounts I may owe in the future. but are there any other specific reasons that I have to do?
I really have no idea what those carryover amounts mean in my CRA account. However, there are always some numbers that have been carried-over over the years.

Any insights would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Jamie

AS far as I know certain school fee's can be tax deductible. I am just filing mine now for my school years this summer, so will see. Get your t-2202a from your institution. This is needed for tax.
