Last 3 year work experience

Hello everyone,

IRCC states that, to be eligible in the CEC class, we should have at least 1 year full time work experience in Canada within the last 3 years before application.
I had worked in Canada from April 1st 2018 to April 1st 2020. Considering it is April 3rd 2022 today, I was expecting my CEC candidature to drop, but I'm still a CEC candidate on the IRCC application page.
Does IRCC look for 1 year full time of work within the last 3 years, or do they look for 1 year 'experience', such that completion of 1 year, within the last 3 years?
I mean, considering I completed 2 years on April 1st 2020, will I be within the CEC until April 1st 2023?

What do u mean by "CEC candidature to drop"? Do u have Express entry profile and what is your CRS score? CEC draw has been stopped since Sep 2021 and no one knows when will it resume. If you have enough score you will get Invitation to Apply (ITA) and your work experience will count within 3 years at the time you get the ITA.

You are no longer a CEC candidate.

The 1 year of full time work experience has to ALL fall within the last three years - not be completed within the last 3 years.

No, you will not be a CEC candidate until April 1st, 2023. You are no longer a CEC candidate now since your experience from very early April 2019 can no longer be counted. The work experience you have from the very start of April 2019 (i.e. april 1-4) already falls outside of the 3 year period.

When I check my application, it states that I meet the CEC criteria and IRCC still considers me a CEC candidate. That is the confusing part, as I was expecting that it would say 'not met' for the CEC.

Because the tool only goes month to month. This makes it look like you are eligible when you are not.

Somehow, I'm still in the CEC pool even though the work duration in my last 3 years is shorter than 12 months. If selected as a CEC candidate, will I be able to apply through the CEC pathway?

You may be able to submit your application, but your application will be refused for not meeting the work experience requirement. Applying will be a waste of money.

I actually sent an email to IRCC about this, but did not receive a reply. Do you know if we can ask questions to IRCC through web form regarding the CEC regulations, or do they only respond if I get selected for an application? Thank you.

I'm asking because IRCC eased up some of the regulations for the applications for people residing in Canada, and I am in Canada right now, so I just wonder if that might be the reason why I'm still in the CEC pool. My current work is not a paid job so it does not count as full-time paid work though, so does not count in my work experience, and I didn't add my current job to my Canadian work experience.

Webforms are really only for questions about application status once you've been selected and applied. Responses are normally fairly generic. You should not exepct that you're going to get detailed advice about your situation.

If you want advice, you'll need to hire an immigration lawyer.

They didn't ease up any requirements related to this. It looks like your experience ended in April 2020. So you should expect that your profile will change in June to show you no longer qualify under CEC.
