hi all,

Many thanks for you help thus far. d day is getting nearer and nearrer to land.

another question for landed people. - Since we (My hubby and i) are only going to land for 2 weeks and come back to UK . We plan to relocate early next year for final settling down, my question now is that i hope there wont be any issue telling them the immigration officer that we are only here to land and stay for 2 weeks and come back next year for final settlement?
Or do we just go silence about the plan for staying for 2 weeks and coming back next year?

You do not need to tell them about any plans like that. They would not ask even since you are immigrating. You can even go back the next day, no problem. It is your choice to stay or not stay. Just keep in mind that you need to stay 1095 days out of 5 years in Canada to retaining your PR.

Cheers!!!

It should be number of days in a 5-year period, does not matter if you live 6 months in Canada and 6 months elsewhere. Your total number of days should equal 1095 in 5 years.

For renewal of PR one need to stay 730 days in 5 years that too not necessarily in consecutive manner. 1095 days in more than 5 years is for becoming to be eligible for citizenship. So first priority is to keep ur PR alive then the next hurdle of 1095 days would be taken care of at later stage.

Just make sure you have some way of getting your PR card. Without it to get back into the country you'll need to apply for another visa (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp). The application form the PR card (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5444E.pdf) also asks for an address within Canada. Just keep that all in mind.

Also, my apology, yes 1095 days are to be eligible for Citizenship and 2 years for retaining your PR.

Oh Yes, I should have mentioned that as well that without PR card you cannot re-enter Canada as PR visa is a single entry visa.
