Does anyone know if it's possible to land from inside Canada? I applied outland, but I've been staying in Canada with my husband. I got the request to send in my passport, but I'm concerned about landing. I don't live too far from the border, but I don't have a car, so I have no way to get to the border. It's ridiculous to think that I've come so far with this, only to be faced with a roadblock at the very end.

Try to to reach your CIC local office. I have heard of people who didn't go to the border and ended up "landing" at the local office.
Did you think of renting a car? It may be worth it! :)

Is there a bus you can take? (I'm assuming you're American and can enter the US easily.) My husband landed via Megabus.

You can land from inside Canada. However I believe it takes a number of weeks to get an appointment. Hopefully someone else can provide more details about this bit.

Once you have your passport with the COPR, phone the call centre, 1-888-242-2100 and make an appointment for "landing" at your local CIC.

It will be quicker to rent a car and flagpole at the Border but cheaper and longer to arrange an appointment to land Inland.

It all depends how desperate you are to get that SIN and start your health care wait time.

Some offices can take up to 2 months or longer to arrange a land. If it was me, I would rent the car, hop over the Border, turn around and land.

It takes minutes to actually land, just a formal notice,welcome to Canada and a pile of leaflets and information.
