Re: PR Card

Greeting and congralutions to the ones who has made steps forward in the process. Becoming a Permanent resident is really a satisfactory and comfortating feeling of achieving your main goal.good luck in the further steps.

This question is directed to the experienced ones who are still in the forum. How long did the PR card take to get on your mailbox? It's been more than 6 weeks now for mine and it hasn't been delivered yet. I checked the CIC we page and there is no sign what my actual pr card status is. what is clearly noted on the web page is that I landed and officially became a permanent resident.

I was expecting to check the PR card status on the web age but no luck on that.

thanks in advance and again my best wishes to all,

A ghost but active forum reader&writer! ( I feel not ok writing in here since my English is kind of misunderstand-able but hope it can get better along the years)

Don't worry your PR card(s) will come....you are almost there! I got mine exactly two months after landing. Their site now says it takes 67 days to process...you may confirm same here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-card.asp

However, if you are in Canada to be sure of the status of your card you may call the Call Center on: 1-888-242-2100 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday.

Best wishes.

My case os also same like u. Is there any way to check the status of PR issuance. In web ecase my address is same as of my home country. Should it change in ecase or it could remain same....any experience

To check status of your PR issuance you may call the Cic Call Center on:1 888 242 2100 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday if you are in Canada. As per e-case address mine also still shows my address in my home country even though I have received my PR card...so I don't think it's any cause to worry.

Best wishes!

@ Amikety,

Congrats on receipt of PPR.

Thanks for your reply and support. So in this case I can wait little more because I was worried for the thw ecase status. 1 + for u.

@ Amikety
Congratulations on the receipt of your PPR.
Very happy for you.

Thank you again everyone :D

We mailed our documents the same day. Ottawa now asks for proof of financial support with PPR, so we sent photocopies of my passport (I'm visa exempt), two paystubs from my husband's job, and another copy of his job letter so they can match it with his paystubs easily. I also sent a copy of my university graduation information so the IO can see I am preparing to enter the workforce.

My husband knew which post office to go to for late pick-up, so we went to drop it off. I was so excited, I could barely write the correct address on the envelope & I forgot to write my return address. The clerk at the counter got a chuckle out of me. :D

Ottawa takes about 1 month to send COPR....... one month until my birthday. C'mon CIC! Give me a birthday present! :D :D :D

I would avoid agents to rent homes. Those homes are always more expensive! You can find lots of rentals on Kijiji or Rent Faster (rentfaster.ca).

Good news everyone! I got my PPR today! :D

Oh finally!!Congratulations Amilkety on your PPR!!

Hello Friends...

Me and my wife have landed in Calgary 2.5 weeks ago and my wife has recently secured a job with Shaw Direct.I am on a negotiating table for a full-time role in my Hospitality job at this moment.

We are struggling to find accommodation especially in North East area where the situation in rental market is bad due to recent floods as the demand for properties have shot up !!

I would really appreciate any help if people living in NE area are aware of any rental properties because its hard for new immigrants to apply for any place when locals/old immigrants have strong references & employment backgrounds.

Thank you in advance friends.

Abhi

Yes, party. I made a pie today. Is that my party? :P :P :P

Just waiting for my visa so I can get my job. My husband has been so good to me for all this time, working alone and supporting me. It's going to be nice to take him for dinner and get him a nice gift for Christmas this year!
