I second that. Never seen any place like Canada where people is being treated on the same conditions. People on the streets are friendly and always happy to help you.

This post makes me happier. Planning to land in Edmonton next year.

God bless seniors.

It's relative, it depends on what you consider live happily. In terms of wages, most survival jobs are in the range of 10.5 to 17$ an hour. Full time you can make quite money but as I see working 8 hours a day in a survival job , it would distract you from getting the job you are probably dreaming,

What I suggest for a single man/woman settling in calgary under the fsw process is to start creating a network, as you are professionals the easiest way to get a job in the field of your desire is to meet the same professionals and above. In the meantime. A survival job which helps you to pay the living expenses and on this way keep the savings safe!

My two cents

i am actually a computer systems engineer. but surely, i will not get my dream suddenly when i land. so just to start savings here i would surely be look for a survival job to meet my expenses. What about costs like food, grocery items and car insurance.

You never what could happens my friend.! Keep the hope.

Car insurance for new immigrants is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. 160$ for the first year because they don't know you!

Food and grocery costs are reasonable, expensive but nothing beyond imaginable! With 2000 dollars monthly you will survive paying rent, supermarket, utilities and public transportation.

I hope we can meet too and have some pints while we aim for some chicks! Hahaha

The weather in July is almost perfect!! 29 Celsius overall with high peaks of 39 40 Celsius! At nights the temperature drops easily so it is a perfect season to hike or to do some outdoors activities. The daylight is longer that I was used to, over 15 hours.

Good luck with your process and keep it up, you never know what's in your future until you decide what to do!
