My wife did her first landing (as a PR) in Canada last year (summer 2014). But then she returned to her home country to settle some affairs. Then at the beginning of July 2015, she moved to Canada for good, to live here permanently.
Questions:
1. Given that soon will mark her 3rd month living permanently in Canada, she'd like to apply for an OHIP card. When she's at the Service Ontario kiosk, will she have to provide an explanation why she's only applying for her health card now, despite the fact that she already landed in summer 2014? What should she say?
2. As you guys know, a new resident can only apply for a health card after residing in Canada for at least 90 days. How does she prove that she's been in Canada for the past 90 days? What sort of documentations are required?
