Landed Immigrants in Toronto/GTA - Lets Network /Meet

People who have landed in the last couple of months - Lets meet/discuss - job opportunities, shopping, housing and other settlement issues. Lets meet near a subway/bus connected area , so that its easy for all to commute.

We landed on 21st June and are currently living in the North York , Toronto area with my aunt. I am a banker and my husband is an IT infrastructure manager.
We are actively looking for jobs and a place to live in a well connected area.

Any thoughts are welcome ..

Excellent idea, Ma'am!
This is a fantastic thought. In fact I always tell ppl to be organized & meet. Networking is the buzzword in today's world. If u see my Dubai thread, u'd know. I started that thread on this premise.

Besides, when I was in Dubai, we used to have every fortnight meets, between a serious group of applicants. Now most of us have landed-up & we still try & get-together once in a while. Moreover, we r in continued touch with each other over phone & a Separate Email Chain. We r always logged. And exchange any & every information between the group.

So, I guess, your idea is perfectly fine. It's the way to go. Yes, everyone in such a group benefits, no, not direct financially, but thru immense networking we get the know of better opportunities, employment leads, buying/purchasing info, family friendship, neighborhood knowledge, etc, especially Moral Support.

It always starts with Two or a Few getting together & then building it up. Slowly ppl join, the like-minded ones. And before soon u have a good & strong group. I have already done that. In Dubai & here as well, with the same ppl. Don't think others will not respond. Once u start with 2-3 guys, u'll see how it develops.

I'll be always there in your group. It sure is the way to go in this millennia.

An impending Next Meet

Hi all,

Our Dubai2Canada Group would probably be meeting on next Sunday (4th of July). The venue is not yet decided as we r yet trying to regroup with the newly landed ones. But, most likely it'll be somewhere in Mississauga. The timings r expected to be 12:30pm-Whatsoever.

As of now only 4 of us stand Confirmed, while the recently landed ones r being looped. I'll keep posting the updates here.

If anyone's interested, of course out of our pre-existing group, rest assured u'd be most welcome to join us.

One of the members is coming from Toronto... Yonge & Sheppard... She's a lady member.
