memorial university is tooooooo expensive yar..

do you ppl know other universities who are offering M.eng in engineering management???

well yes MUN's MEM course is expensive. But I had to apply in at least two Universities to be on safer side.
Fees & reputation wise, i would prefer UoA over MUN.

Well there might be more, and universities are continuously adding to their courses. At the time of my application, I could find 4 in Canada.

1- MUN
2- UoA
3- McGill - probably
4- UBC - MS in Operations ... etc

Hey guys,

I am applying to Engg Managemnt At Memorial.

I am Mech Eng/61%/15months work ex

How good are the admission and funding chances?

Can I know the fee structure for the whole program?

Is it 22000 CAD?

Kindly advise.

hi nickmarques,

the admission chances are good if you fall within the basic requirements. Funding chances are low and only 2000 CAD / semester can be expected provided good grades are maintained. Tuition fees is 22000 CAD / complete program for int'l students. There's a breakdown of installments for this.

There are more Universities in Canada offering the same program with better reputation and still low in fees. but you'll find competition in there.

hey jibz,
Thanks for the reply.

I am nt really worried abt d tuition coz I hv gt it covered..I jst wnt to knw job opportunities after graduation..its jst tht i dont wnt to waste time
I am a Mech Engg with 15 months experience in d service sector..
I cd sort out only two univs providing engg management - alberta and memorial ..are thr any other univs?
Does 22000 cad apply to tuition alone or the whole program?

I managed gettin meng admission frm carleton n concordia this year bt hd to refuse it since i wntd to improve my work exposure..

yes... one month ...will file the visa in may ... tell me chances of visa for U of A .. Have u heard about its rejection ?

tell me one thing more i have sufficient funds to show for my studies but my father is retired now:S will it effect my application ?

The chances of getting visa is high and NO..i havent heard of anyone being rejected visa for UoA. Just show your ties to returning to the country like ur fathers properties and the likes..u have no prob since you have enough funds for ur studies..ur father being retired shldnt be a problem.

@ nickmarques

Well I cant say anything about the job opp in Newfoundland since I'm still not in canada :D However, I'd a conversation with a graduate of MUN (petroleum) - he himself was working in Alberta.

As already mentioned, there are more UNIV that offer similar programs like UBC & McGill. From UoA & MUN, i think most will prefer UoA.

What about on campus jobs at ualberta ? I have heard there are lot of on campus jobs in ualberta ? is it true ?

University of Alberta is the largest emplyoyer in Alberta province. Lots of Job chances there. Dun worry man

@Jibz
Then I'll probably apply to UofA, UBC or McGill!

I hear as far as reputation goes, the above three are good comparing to MUN.

:)
