I got an ITA to apply for the AAIP Alberta Opportunity Stream today. My EOI total is 63 –– 53 for Human Capital Factors & 10 for Economic Factors. I submitted this EOI on 2/12/2026.
For context, I currently live and have I've lived in Alberta since 2019. I graduated with a bachelors from an Alberta university, and I'm on a PGWP with 1 year, 9 months of continuous work experience. I'm currently working at an Alberta-based company (NOC6440) over a month now and I previously worked remotely in Alberta for an Ontario-based company (NOC 22221).
I checked my Expression of Interest (EOI) and I had applied to the Express Entry Stream Accelerated Tech Pathway because I thought my current NOC is 22221 - User support technicians but it's actually NOC6440 after checking with my employer. Also, by mistake I checked marked in the Work experience section both:
- I have 6 months or more work experience in Alberta
- I have 6 months or more work experience in another province or territory in Canada (not Alberta)
I do not have 6 months of work experience with my current Alberta-based employer as yet. I've only been employed by my Alberta-based employer for a little over a month
The second option is what more-so applies to me because the company I worked for at my old job is an Ontario company with no physical Alberta address. I just worked remotely from Alberta. I was confused if the first option applied to me because I'm physically present in Alberta despite my previous job being Ontario-based.
I fear submitting my application and getting denied for misrepresentation due to these overlooked mistakes.
Should I accept the ITA or withdraw my EOI and start over again?
