Yes Vancouverain,

we plan on sending a new PC but only when they get in contact with us. We will have it in hand ready to go. I don't expect that it will be long before we hear an update. My friend heard from POS 1 month after the file was transferred from Kingston (or after they received the AOR from POS).

So for us both, it will be 1 month on Friday. So keep the faith, we will hear soon.....

I realized lately that all process are shorter than last year but I suggest to everyone to do the new PC when it expired. It a must to have it valid and they wont extend it for sure. My husband did it b4 they request it and sent it in right away. He got a call for PPR and no other documents has been requested. They have extended his medicals since the file was in good order with the new PC. If I would have wait, maybe they would have request the new PC + the new medicals. That happened to some peoples in here. It up to you guys to make the process shorter and put all the chances on your side! :)

I hear what you are saying Meljam but I am tempted to wait to be asked for the PC rather than send it. I will have it ready to go.

First of all, I don't know where to send it: POS or Kingston? What if I send it in and it just sits there for a while before being filed? What if it gets lost? I would not know where or who to send it to to make sure that it gets filed properly and right away.

At least when they ask for it you have a direct link with them and you are sure that it will reach the right people at the right time.

MelJam, they will be requesting passport and photos and maybe a form or two so I figured I can send the PC along with the rest all at once. Does that make sense? Do you really think that it will change anything if I send it in before they ask???? And if I do send it, where would you recommend that I send it to?

Well, I beleive that they have requested new photos and forms updated to peoples who their applications had 1 year mark or more....so thats should be the only reason why they have requested this. So since your application is from Sept. 2014 and you are far from the 1 year mark, I would take a chance and send it in when it will be expired. When your husband PC expire??

Abt the place to send it. You received an email from POS mentionning that your file has been received in POS right? So you should see the complete adress on that email. Or here the adress:

The High Commission of Canada
Att : VISA SECTION
P.O. Box 1246
Port of Spain
Republic of Trinidad and Tobago

What you can do first, before to send it in, you can send an email to that address : PSPAN-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca and ask them to confirm that your file is still in POS. They will replied, ususally quickly.

Make sure you write the UCI number on the back of PC to make them match it easily with the file.

That is what I would do.

There is no Toll-free number. You need the call the local number with international credit. Buy from Lime 2$ for 90 minutes.

Anyone that had their application sent to POS embassy.......

Was your partners passport requested first by Kingston?

Our passport was requested last week by Kingston, so just trying to see if they will deal with it there or mail it out?

Thanks!

I am no expert but based on my experience- We were told to send the passport to Kingston at the end of March and pay for the return postage from Kingston. We did that and Hubby picked up the package yesterday at the DHL office. Did they ask to pay the return postage as well?

Happy to say hubby picked up the package yesterday from DHL and there it was his visa in passport, original birth certificate, original marriage certificate, original of our pictures and a few other letters. No one from immigration contacted him so I believe this is his confirmation

Hang in there everyone!

Congrats !
Yes of course, just need to book a flight now ! You must find the COPR also. This is the document to confirm his Permanent Residence. An officer will sign this at the airport in Canada. Its the most important document.

Thanks! Yes, he did recieve the COPR. We were looking at flights. We found one connecting in Montreal to Toronto. Since he has to do an interview when he land as per the letter I am afraid he will miss the connecting flight. We most likely will book a direct flight to Toronto then

It shows on the site that they are working on Applications received on Feb 4th now. I don't think you'll be in the system until they start processing your file. Since yours was received on the 6th, I'm assuming you should be getting an email very soon, knowing if your approved as a sponsor.
