Congrats to all who have got good news from Kingston! I am keeping my fingers crossed we are soon too!

A little update on us, we filed as spousal sponsorship living within Canada and they received our paperwork March 15th, 2013. They then sent a request for meds to be done in May as well as a couple added forms since we filed(or so we thought at the time) and we sent back in June as soon as we had the appt and got them done. On July 11, 2013 we received a letter saying my sponsorship was approved and file was being sent to Kingston-which may i add we had just checked cic website and it read "application received" still!. Therefore, must have been changed to living outside canada? When I check the cic website I have to click living in Canada and go that route, but I checked the papers I filed and they are living within canada~ lol thats where it is confusing. So I am under the assumption we have "technically" now filed living outside of Canada but hubby is in canada (work permit). My question being 1) has anyone else been in this situation?- I know i have asked similar questions before, but I was second guessing myself! 2) Am I able to appeal if for some reason we were not approved?- The only thing that we can think of which may be an "issue" is a brother of his years ago stayed in canada off a work permit and was due to get married, but wanted to do the right thing and went home-long story short girl was in it for money and marriage didnt happen and it was a wise choice, however doing the right thing caused a ding on him for being here passed the stamped date on passport, but since has a ten year visa to US and goes visiting his brother whom is a police officer in US which about 5 years ago has also filed for his mother to go to US. ~~ Would this cause our paperwork to get denied??? We are living in Ontario and he has no criminal record and been on work permit for past 5 years(farm work program) and has no children. We have 1 together and 2 that are mine, but "daddy" to them

It is very overwhelming for me- as I am sure MANY others- when people are filling your head from every direction of what they believe to be right and wrong and what the "hold up" is and what we have done wrong or right or blablabla lol so it is very nice to read everyones happy endings on this forum! I choose to ignore all the negative and keep the positive close, but also break down at times. Kingston does have ALOT on their plates for sure, but we all hope for a miracle ;)

@ Istheendnear...

Although I don't know of anyone in this situation ( sponsoring from within Canada), I wanted to know if you have spoken to someone ( CIC, Kgn, or your MP) to ask why the file is being processed as ( outside of Canada)?... If you haven't I suggest you do ;)

I can relate in regards to ' other's ' explanations of the long delay... I have heard it all too, everything from some ppl have luck, dem must have contacts, to maybe somebody obeah him :o :P

Here's one for your forum:

I hear ya!!

Yes we have contacted mp- they were rude! said not to contact them before 22 months since the app has been sent to kingston, kingston we cant get through to ever! I did call canadian gov and they said generally it is 8 months for second half, but then again you get someone else and they tell you something diff yet again lol the 8 months was the latest answer and if it was 8 months wouldnt we be "in process" at very least as of now?!~ lol alllll way too confusing!

from what I understand about filing in Canada.....it is basically the same as ours, you will get your sponsor approval but the file still has to go to Kingston to be processed there as that is his citizenship country. And yes you can always appeal but no negativity remember....everything will work out! :)

Hello everyone. I think this may appear as if I am responding to a post but didn't see any other option to post. Have lurked for 1.5 years so feel like I know you guys, especially 2012 applicants.

Is it possible to get PPR twelve days before Med. expire? Anyone with the experience...It would be greatly appreciated.

I don't really think so but it is possible that they may have extended his meds! Have you tried emailing them to ask if you should redo them?

@ Chickie, first I MUST tell you how excited I was when your Fam got PPR was jumping like I won the lotto.

My husband is the sponsor. Ordered notes last month, my Med was done in Feb. 2013 however on my notes it said Med Validity April 2014 so a bit confused as to whether it was extended.

Received request for PC redo last week and went in Process three days later.

have you put the pc in yet? Mrs Brown put her PC to kingston and 2 days later they called her for her hubby's passport.
