Pardon my ignorance. I was going to have my husband to be complete the medical and police check in december so that when we get married in January I would only have to wait for our wedding pictures to complete the application. Is this a bad plan?

No its not a bad plan at all. The medical is done in a day either in montego bay or Kingston because you have to go to Canadian certified doctors. Its the police check that can take up to a month. If you go to Kingston it can be fast tracked in a week. My husband used Kingston for the police check... he is a traveller so he goes there when he has to renew is police check. He went to montego bay for his medical as its easier to get an appointment. So the sooner the better.

If ur medicals was submitted with ur application ur ecas should say medicals received.

We submitted his medicals with the police check as well. But it says nothing about medicals being received. should I be looking into this?

Ninirae I dont know if this makes a difference or not. but He did his medical last November, the doctor would have sent in her portion to the government after that. I didn't get to out our paperwork in until May of this year. That could be the reason that it says in when I checked on the online service thing.

Oh... maybe... but now I'm scared. lol I know he did his medicals only about a month prior to us putting in the application and the doc sent it straight over.

I did enclose a copy of his proof of medical though... so I'm probably over reacting.

We sent our application with the medical and criminal check but on ecas it doesn't say anything. I recently received my notes, and on there it states that it is received so i wouldn't worry if it says nothing on ecas

Just wondering when was the last time that you have seen your Hubby, any plans to go down? 8)
... I was in JA in August, will most likely be going for the Christmas/ New Year...although the prices are SKY HIGH ... have no other choice, in terms of the timing, because I have already used up all of my vacation time (since we got married, last year... it has been a record in terms of the amount of time back and forth...) which is a drain financially, but I keep telling myself , not for much longer

All my vacation time is spent on my husband. I was down there in August for 12 days and I will be heading down there Dec for xmas and 3 weeks after. I got down every 3 months and cost me anywhere from 1400 to 2000 just for airfare alone. I average about 3,000- 4,000 each trip to Jamaica.

How do you order notes?

GCMS notes (Global Case Management System) are notes that are made on your file. The Sponsor can order them online or by mail for $5 and the Applicant has to sign a consent form. They take 30 calendar days (sometimes longer) to be sent to the Sponsor once they are ordered.

A lot of people order the GCMS notes if they have been in the process (around a year) and haven't heard anything from Kingston. It is also a good idea to order them if you are scheduled for an interview.
