No you do not wait until they request it. It sounds like you did the right thing. Did you include the certificate in your application?

thanks for the info...
my info so far:
we sent our application june 2012 was received june 23 and approved with desicion made for me as a sponser in mississauga by aug 23 and sent to kingston ..
havent heard a thing more and the CIC status for his PR app still says application received and medicals received. I have sent 3 faxes and 3 emails asking for more info on our application with no response from KG embasssy...

...after reading on here i assume thats normal! but i just starting to wonder if the history of my husbands stay in canada will most likley cause delays in the process. ACR letters and all that stuff he submitted his police check from down there and faxed it before they requested it to stay ahead of the game. still no reply or updates on the CIC site since Dec 6 2012

seems like forever we been apart as i am 30 weeks pregnant and he had to leave me October 1 2012

i really need him back to see his son be born...but thats just wishful thinking at this point i guess!!
I just want to say Congrats on your pregnancy........and praying for you to have a health baby

well he went to get the international background check and fingerprints checks completed as soon as he returned to JA in october thinking we was suppose to include it in the original package we sent off in june...so he got his record and faxed it to the embassy in october
was that supposed to be requested before we sent it?

Welcome Dlmo77!!!

We're happy that you found this special place. Everyone here is helpful.

It would be a good idea if you mail in the original certificates to the embassy asap. They'll want that. Best of Luck.

It is the most difficult thing in this world to be apart from our hubbies. Trust we here know the feeling so seek comfort that you have others who understand what you're going through.

not really..........in my application it show that my wife only cam to jamaica once and that when we got married.....but since then she been back 2 times since then......so i wanted them to know that she been coming to look for me and send them some other things like a letter she wrote that she miss me and when she need me the most i could not be there becasue of this long waiting process.......she had surgery on my birthday back in september....it alot of things she mention in the letter to them

Thanks ladies for all the wishes and prayers!...yes its time to be patient and join the club for sure!.

..yes he went to kingston and dropped the originals aswell just to be sure.

Just unsure if his stay in canada will delay our application as it seems most people who get through quickly have never been here before they applied for sponsership..
has anyone on here got through in under a year with a denied refugee claim in his history before sponsership was submitted?
and i guess i should send off proof of our contact while he has been gone so far to help update our file?

Yes that always helps to send proof of the continuing of your relationship. But by the sounds of your case, you likely passed the preliminary review which determines the bona fides of your relationship as they haven't convoked an interview. That is key under spousal sponsorship. You're likely in the back ground/security checks and that can take up to 6 months or more depending on the security level they've selected for your file.

Hold tight, things will soon sort out for you both or should I say for the 3 of you. ;D

Welcome Dlmo!! Congratulations on your pregnancy and all the best with the rest of the journey. I understand completely what you are going through now not having hubby with you and the possibility of him not being around to witness the birth of the baby. I hope you have enough support around you to help you get through it.

Yes, I agree, send Kingston the additional information as proof of your relationship. You should be hearing from Kingston soon, Maddants, it's almost been one year since you filed your application. :)

Moonie, what are your feelings/thoughts of when an interview is scheduled? I know they can ask for one at any point in the process but do you think if we've gone this far without one that they would still request one?
