If they are living in the US, it might be easier for them to get TRVs to Canada than from Jamaica. Coming from Jamaica it will be felt that they have no reason to return to an economically-disadvantaged country when their parent is in Canada.

im going to start job hunting tonight....

see the thing about this place is though - went they fire ppl they make them wait forever, for their ROE........last man waited 2 months....he was still coming in to the office everyday without pay.

I work in a very different environment.

wow that is totally against the law........if you are fired you are to have within 24 hours I believe but that is so wrong!! >:(

trust me: the labor board had been called on this place, plenty of times.

a very communist environment. I am a born caucasian Canadian....and I am the visible minority at my workplace.

i know that may sound irrelevant, but trust me, its sooo relevant its disgusting.

thats whats freaking me out.

There was one lady here permanent: she went on her mat leave for the year...thinking she was coming back to a job....while on leave, bought a house, etc...She comes back from leave - and within a week she was fired.

No notice, no severance pay....natta.....She went to the labor board and filed for settlement.

This place is all good at first, but its like once ur locked in - its almost scary to try and unlock yourself out.

yikes....not a good work environment at all.....I really like my job and my co-workers....the bosses can be a little trying at times but with my experience and time I have been here I get a few little perks.....I usually don't request holidays on short notice like this time but my husband was called for an interview and I want to be there....my boss wasn't too happy because he will be on holidays for the first two weeks of October and I said if this wasn't really important to me you know I would not ask....so thankfully I got my week off!!!

Hmmmmm - yes i used to get all those same perks.........then we lost staff - cause they either quit or were fired: to save a few bucks - i got their load...........

I used to ahve allllllllllll those same perks and then some, and reported to no one but the CEO - then he left couple months, back - and everything changed.

Hey Sammy! Enjoy that anticipation, it is an awesome feeling!

Dr Richard Gomes is the DMP I used, and his office #s are: (876) 968-0682 and (876) 926-7161. An excellent doctor, efficient and very competent. He is located at the other end of Kingsway from the Canadian embassy, just a little ways across from Devon House's back gate, and directly across Hope Road from Andrews Hospital, where the X-rays will be done.

Hehe charlie that's the same dr my hubby used as well

so my husband and i had another long talk and we have decided to add his kids as non-accompning dependents and do the medicals but because they are still miners 10 and 13 it should not take as long because they do not need a criminal nor a background check right

Woohoo! Passports done, Birth certificates done, Medicals done today and papers on their way back to Canada. What a fricking load off my shoulders! Am glad that part is over, not really looking forward to the wait but I can't butt in line so gotta hold onto my faith and belief that we will make this thru in no time at all. Thanks to everyone for helping me with all that we had to do. Glad I have friends like you all to help me thru this. Blessings.
